Octavia Spencer "Minnie" from The Help, just won Best Supporting Actress. She looked stunning! I love the Movie, THE HELP! Loved Minnie and Celia! Abilene and Skeeter also! Great movie! :happy-bouncyblue:

How the hell did makeup go to "The Iron Lady" over Harry Potter?

Well, we learned in Meryl's acceptance speech that the make-up guy on The Iron Lady has been her make-up guy for every movie since Sophie's Choice - had he ever won before? Perhaps it was one of those "it's time" Oscars where he really won for past work - Paul Newman (cough) The Color of Money (cough).

I was rooting for Meryl. I hope Viola Davis gets another chance. I was bummed about George. And I got 13 right (I always guess in real time). Andrew can back me up (and he was impressed).

But what would have made me the most angry is if The Artist had taken a screenwriting award.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did they do anything different on the latest Harry Potter, or was it just more of the same old same old? In other words, how many awards can they get for doing Valdemort (sp?), some goblins, and the same cast?

Is it simply a case of Harry Potter fatigue?

Having said that, I truly don't understand THE IRON LADY getting it, other than for the Meryl Streep factor.

And how does THE ARTIST, a French Film win Best Picture and Best Actor? :-o

GTHC GTH

George Clooney deserved Best Actor!! I thought Uggie, the Dog from The ARtist, was the best Actor from that Film!

The Descendants or The Help were more deserving of Best Picture.

I loved Voila Davis in The Help, but Meryl was just as deserving for Best Actresses, but Viola was my choice! Loved Abilene!

I loved the dialog but it was the most ridiculous Oscar nomination this year.

Did I see that one of the producers of TREE OF LIFE is GRANT HILL?

I was really hoping it was our Grant Hill. :duke:
