Need vibes for the OP
Maybe I missed this on another thread. I saw Ima last night at the game. She ask me if I had heard what happened to the OP, I had not. She said he fell down the steps and his cheek was sliced off. He has many stitches. I don't remember all the details. She did say his heart is doing good. Ima, please fill in the details. Boy, OP has not had a good year. Vibes to you....

What is the status of OP? Prayers and thoughts are extended to Ima and OP and their family.

Re: Need vibes for the OP
Well, I wasn't even going to mention this on here since it's sort of embarrassing to admit how hapless and prone to disaster we seem to be here at the "crisis center". Has anybody here EVER been the benefactor of soooooo many vibes? I wonder how many stitches have been required all together just to keep this household up and running!! It would be hilarious if not so pitiful.
So .... the latest debacle is this: The OP stubbed his toe on the top step of the front stoop the other day and made a gooney bird landing into the glass panel at the bottom of the storm door. His cheek landed hard on the bottom frame where glass chards were still protruding. It cut clear to the bone, all but completely severing his cheek and nose. Several small arteries were severed along with some nerves. (My car now automatically finds his way to my home-away-from-home --- the Duke ER.)
It took four plastic surgeons over three hours to put the puzzle back together. It definitely ain't purty and he will have a lopsided smile when all heals, but he never won any beauty contests in the first place so there's no great loss there. His heart held steady through the whole thing and we remained calm, almost serene. Guess there's something to be said for being a veteran of so many calamities.
Today we are grateful. One more inch through the opening and the glass surely would have cut his throat. It would have been curtains instantly.
I think all our luck has surely been used up at this point. Once again, my signature takes on even more meaning!
Love everybody, Ima

Please call or email me when something like this happens. You know I'm not that far from the hospital and can come keep you company, make you laugh, all those good things.

I'm still optimistic that nothing like this will happen again! (Maybe I've hung around "the paradigm of optimism" too long)

Oh, no!
from the Lawgrads, all four of us.
Ima, if you fail to ask for vibes when they are needed, or just wanted, CathyCA and I will have you held in contempt.
(just kidding)
We all love you!
