Carvel, as in Carvel ice cream?
Bad form to quote yourself, but I found a typo too late. Oh no! :o

I haven't had Carvel ice cream since visiting my grandmother in Forest Hills as a kid. They used to have Carvel commercials on TV in Durham, but no store.

Really. It's QUIET.
Very different from where I was.
And there's spaaaaaaaaaaaaaace. Seems like so much more but it's only about 100 sq ft bigger than the old one. The closets are insanely huge. Seriously. And I had great closets in the old place. These are enormous. I could make an office out of one of them, it's that big.
The bathrooms are bigger too, with nice big hourglass shape tubs (no jets, don't get excited). But it's nice to wash my hair without bumping my elbow into the shower wall.
My new place looks out onto a pretty courtyard. I like that.
There's SO much I can walk to... Pasadena Playhouse, Carvel (hey, I'm an East Coast girl), all kinds of shopping & restaurants on Lake Ave and in Old Town, bookstores galore... me be a happy girl.
Just need to see how the commute is over the next few days to see if I have any regrets.
Yay, you!!! If you don't like the commute, remind yourself about all the things you love about your new place.

Some of the local grocery stores stock Carvel cakes.

I believe that's what she said! I loved Carvel ice cream cakes - it was the icing that made them special! Ymm!

I didn't want to be stuck on 666 posts for any longer than I had to.
BIG congrats, Sue, on the new place! I still have a bunch of stuff to pack today for my research trip. In light of my destination, however, it should be pretty easy...all of the seersucker, madras, and pastels that I own, a notebook, and a box of pencils.
Done.

*crickets*
We're back from the Ocean City NJ boardwalk. Merry-go-round, monorail, cheesesteaks, funnel cake, frozen custard. I'm ready for bed but the babe is still up.

Crabbing Season opens tomorrow!
We're hitting the water around 6PM, in Mukilteo next to the ferry, if you want to join in! ;)

I'm folding laundry, watching "Out of Africa." I wish it were in HD, as the cinematography is beautiful.

Softball season ended tonight. It was not a good night, but it was a good season. And I didn't get hurt again!!!!!!!
Double elimination tournament, we were undefeated in the tourney, and had to win one game tonight to win the title. We lost the first game (against the "winner" of the loser's bracket) in a tough, back and forth game. We were missing our best player (a real ball player, covers most of the outfield for us and hits a couple of home runs each game) and it showed. We played them again 15 minutes later, and we ran into a buzz saw. They suddenly hit the hell out of the ball and everything fell in for hits. They got us by the mercy rule in the bottom of the fourth inning.
I pitched both games. I think my arm will fall off tonight...

I beat Shamm in Scrabble tonight. I'm waiting for the apocalypse now.

So that's where he's been. Shamm invited me to play a game, made the first play, I responded and played; haven't heard anything since.
I'm trying not to take it personally. Unless I find out he's been playing Scrabble with Windsor's Daughter, that is...
