He's still not settling down. Still having trouble getting a breath. I can't tell how much of it is anxiety and how much is physical. He hasn't slept for more than 15 minutes at a whack. Anybody got a sledgehammer I could borrow?

Up until last evening we were still trying to get the OP some rest. He hadn't slept more than 15 minutes at a whack for a week. The lung congestion and inability to get a good breath had him going nutty. I looked in the medicine cabinet and found one last dose of cough syrup with codeine and had him slug it down. Voila! He got so good and quiet I thought I had killed him! Whew.

So I called the hospital and asked for the cardiologist on call to see if I could get some more of that good stuff! To my surprise, the head of the department returned my call and THEN stopped by the house in his running shorts (nice legs, too )and dropped off the script in person.

One more example of the beyond excellent care we're getting from the Duke Heart Center.

We're hangin' in now that he can get rest.
(Don't stop vibin', though.)
