Thankful for our freedom and religion and the Birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Thankful, that I could attend the Duke Chapel Christmas Eve service last night, and going to feed the Homeless this afternoon. No matter our circumstances, there are always people that are less fortunate. Thankful and Grateful for the things God has provided for me, and to allow me to go and help others, and volunteer my time to those less fortunate.

Merry Christmas!

Today I'm thankful that despite the Lakers having lost their season opener, Josh McRoberts led them with 8 rebounds (well... two others also had 8 rebounds).

STILL can't believe he started with Pau Gasol and Kobe.

This has been the best Christmas ever!

I am thankful for the mess that is all over my house because it means that we have shelter and a place to celebrate the holiday together.

I'm still working on cleaning it up, but it sure does make me smile!

Best. Christmas. Ever. (So far)

Two new sons-in-law, a future DIL (whose wedding I do not have to pay for; nor do I have to pay for K68 and TG nuptials either :)) :)), no matter how much IMA tries to convince them that I will ), career plans for CLD set for now and many, many more blessings. A far better year than 2009.

Thankful for a fun day with the family today. Big inter generational card game this morning, reading books to sweet baby niece and playing Connect Four with my smack-talking 7 year old nephew this afternoon. (I won!).

I didn't post yesterday, but I'd have to say the overall thankfulness theme yesterday would have to be friendship and family. I had lunch with a couple of friends from high school, and then hid out until my mom's surprise 70th birthday party. We pulled off the surprise with the help of lots of friends who are basically family. I grew up in a very rural, close-knit community, feeling like I had multiple sets of parents, grandparents, and siblings. Being in a gathering with this group made me aware of what a rare experience this was and how blessed I am to have all these people in my life.

I'm grateful today for the great help the OP has given me with the house while I'm all crippled up with this hip. We're having to take it very slowly with all the trips back up to the attic with the packed up ornaments, etc. But what a trouper he's been!

Discretion being the better part of valor, we'll be skipping the game on Friday night, but at the same time I'm grateful some more that DukeRah is well enough to take a friend in our place. Go Duke!

Love, Ima

I'm grateful I don't have to go to the hospital tonight to have a baby like I did 49 years ago. But, I'm even MORE grateful for the precious daughter I brought home back then!!!! She in turn gave us Native and his big brother. Happy Birthday tomorrow, Amanda Jane. This family loves you even though you turned into a Tarheel.

I'm thankful that the vibes we all sent to DukeRah have paid off. Here's hoping they continue to do so! I'm thankful for chocolate, which has helped me make it through many a long day. I'm thankful that I have a brain and that I live in a time and culture that allows me to use it. Many other women aren't so lucky. Similarly, I was blessed with a wonderful education - again, many women in many cultures aren't as lucky.

I'm so thankful for family. I'm thankful for the tears shed when we say good-bye and they head back to PA because it means that we love each other and miss each other when we are apart.

I'm thankful for my parents who taught us that as long as family is together everything is all right. Mom & Dad were the best.
Life is good!
