Yes, we will end our very frustrating season with a significant VICTORY! One that showcases the growth and progress that our football program has undergone this season. You doubters* will get back on the train, or get run over on the tracks.

Wind is blowing my freshly piled leaves around, damn it. All due to a crack in the ground over in holeville, where Hell is releasing and adding hot, stinking winds to an approaching warm front from the west. May these winds pick up all those leaves and place them squarely in the halls of the tarhole locker room so they may find themselves able to choke the goats into submission next Saturday!

It's been a nippy week weather wise here on the dump hump -- a refreshing chill in the air.

But today, the air took a definite warming trend.

The villagers murmur among themselves that it's the result of the Devil's having frowned, whirled around, unfurled his billowing cape and blown his first scorching hot breath this way.

The city fathers shudder at the thought of what comes next. They've seen it before. And it's not pretty.

They warn the youngsters that as he gets more and more agitated, he'll swirl that cape around with more and more gusto, point his pitchfork toward the Old Well and heave an even hotter breath that will singe the hair of hippies all way through town to Carrboro.

They say he wants his bell back and they fear that this new guy, Bubba, doesn't grasp the importance of just handing it back to him RIGHT NOW before somebody gets hurt!!!

Poor Bubba. He's got a lot to learn, bless his heart. But then, the Lord usually looks out for hapless souls like Bubba who just don't know any better than to take the AD job where folks don't play by the rules.

The high on Saturday was 70. Overnight, temperatures dropped to 29. As the gates open to accept the tar heel faithful back to their homeland, the warmth will be spreading our way as temperatures rise all week long.

I was friends with a girl in high school who found me on FB several years ago. I accepted her friend request. She lives in Delaware. It turns out she is a rabid tarhole fan. I have several friends who are, but most of us don't discuss sports. I don't rag them (except for an occasional 9f, which they don't understand), they don't rag me.

This morning I posted: "Happy Thanksgiving. (And thanks, Tyler Thornton.)"

Imagine my surprise when this same hole fan (whose posts are on my ignore list) liked my status.
