Re: Happy 50th CathyCA!!
Thank you all. PW that I am, I will respond to each of you individually at some point.
I did want to share something with you all that I learned in court this morning. I learned a new discount shopping technique:
Go to WalMart with your friend. While your friend is putting high dollar items (size 48DD bras and king size sheet sets) in your personal tote bag in the shopping cart, you go and buy a pair of earrings for yourself and some Pampers for your child. Make sure the earrings have a little alarm tag on them. Have your friend meet you at the door. When the alarm goes off, show the receipt for the earrings and Pampers. Your friend keeps on pushing the cart out the door while you talk to the greeter at the door and show her the alarm tag on the earrings and the receipt indicating that you've paid for them. The next day, you return to WalMart and bring in the sheets and bras. Tell the service desk that they were a gift, and that you didn't get a gift receipt from the giver. WalMart will give you a gift card for the exchange because they don't require receipts for returns. Then, you can go buy what you really want on the gift card, like beer or clothes or video games or more jewelry. Or, you can go to the corner gas station and exchange your $150 gift card with a guy who will pay you $50 for it so that you can go and buy yourself some crack or other drug of choice.
I can't believe that I never figured this one out on my own.
I told the witnesses from WalMart that if they changed their policy on returns and required receipts, they'd be in court a lot less, and they'd spend much less time on "returns" and issuing gift cards.
Stay tuned for more birthday fun! I'm enjoying my golden day!

Thank you, CB&B! I had so much fun counting down to my birthday. My big day was wonderful. I did get lots of presents , I ate a cupcake for breakfast and I had steak, cake and ice cream for dinner. I didn't eat any candy, though. Maybe next year!CameronBornAndBred wrote:Happy Birthday Cathy!! It's been so fun following your 50 day countdown on Facebook. Thank you, Lavabe! I should do an AARP card tally. So far, they've sent me 2 applications for membership. The way I view it, I should never join their organization since I will never be able to retire. I'll need to work until I die.Lavabe wrote:Congrats, Cathy!!
