I won this week, beating Ymo by 19 points, and knights by 27 points. Colchar was 18 pts further back, followed by Tilly, some 47 pts further back.

I now lead knights in the overall competition by 88 points. Ymo is 58 pts further back in 3rd. 400 pts behind is a big battle between Tilly and colchar. colchar trails Tilly by 26 pts. Usul ran out of his allotment of picks with Kenseth today, and now trails colchar by 25 pts.

Next stop... CHARLOTTE!!

And I'll be at a conference Saturday. May only catch the last 45 minutes of the race.

Down to one pick left for Newman and Kes. After this week, one of my three C listers will be down to one pick. I have no problems with the A list.

But yeah... it was a weak week.

My lead over Ymo is 115pts, with knights some 21 pts behind that. And COLCHAR has moved into 4th place 432 pts further back. Tilly now trails colchar by 13 pts. Usul is now earning points from only his bench lineup during qualification.

The big news was JJ's crash with like 17 laps remaining. With 5 races remaining, JJ will probably need another two wins to take the lead in the Chase. Trouble is, JJ had a fast car early, but had a bad pit (took four tires instead of two, like everyone else) that shuffled him back in the pack. At that point, the car seemed to lose the speed it had early on. Meanwhile, Edwards keeps rolling along, and leads Harvick by 5 pts. Harvick narrowly avoided a late crash. Kenseth is now only 7 pts off the lead. Blech is 18 pts off the lead; he had a good race yesterday, but uncharacteristically surrendered the lead to Kenseth very late. Stewart, Kes, and Kurt form another group 20+ points away. JJ is 35 pts off. The rest of the chasers are 60+ pts off, and are essentially out of the running.

Next week is the magic roulette wheel, Talladega!!

In fantasy league standings, I now lead 2nd place Ymo by 164 pts, with knights 1 pt back in 3rd. Colchar is 403 pts further back, with Tilly trailing our Canadian NASCAR fan by 155 pts.

The following is a synopsis after I got home from my own version of Talladega.

As for the actual NASCAR race, BOWYER barely wins (by 2 feet), beating teammate Jeff Burton (rats... he was on my bench). Bowyer had pushed Burton for much of the last lap or two.
Order of finish:
Bowyer, Burton, Blaney (that's right...he worked with Kes), Kes, Vickers, KK, Smoke, Hamlin, Waltrip, Truex.
Edwards, Menard, Reutimann, Biff, Bayne (JG is pissed at him because Bayne bailed JG with 2 laps to go), Cassill, Mears, Kenseth, Ambrose, MM.
Kvapil, Gilliland, JPM, Logano, Jr, JJ, JGordon, Ragan, JamieMac, Smith (Still alive).
Dinger, Harvick, Blech, T Labonte, B Labonte, Kurt, Robbie Gordon, Newman, etc...

Early crash: Bayne squeezed Logano, causing Logano to go into Blech, but Logano got the worst of it, having a left front tire blow up.
Lap 90 crash: Newman spin out. BAD pit stop.
Lap 104: Dinger spins, crashes and damages Harvick, JPM, and Blech. This one hurt both Chase contenders. Blech was pissed at JPM.
5 laps to go: Jr and Cassill touch, touching JJ... JJ lost it at that, but fortunately didn't have an accident. However, this probably knocked him out of contention for the championship.

Edwards now leads the Chase by 14 pts over Kenseth, with Kes in 3rd. JJ needs to win 2 to have any chance.
