Pitt and the 'Cuse Newest Members of ACC (Now Official)
Applied yesterday and may be admitted tomorrow. Who's next on the ACC menu?

Re: Pitt and the 'Cuse to the ACC Tomorrow?
Looks like I was a day off. And, the article answers my question about who's next.

I think we are headed to 4 major conferences:
ACC - East Coast
Pac-?? - West of the Mississippi not in Midwest
SEC- Southeastern US
Big-?? - Midwestern schools
The difficulty I see is for say the SEC to get to 16 teams.

Pitt and Cuse are very good universities with good Football and Basketball teams, also. Although, I don't like the idea of expansion, it is what it is. You will either be a POWER conference or watch from the side.
Change is generally a little painful in the beginning, as the conference grows, but should prove very $$$$$$$ beneficial as time goes by.
Just a question?? Wasn't VaTech, Miami and Boston College added to the ACC for their Football programs, and what they would bring to the table?

I think they messed up so badly with the last expansion, bless their hearts, they might as well keep going. You can't unscramble an egg.

So true! The "Haves" and the "Have Nots." And that applies to everything, unfortunately.captmojo wrote:The rich will continue to get richer.

The SEC will get to 16 teams pretty easily, I think. Texas, TT and Mizzou sounds like the most reasonable group to join TAMU. But, 4 may join the PAC X and I could see KU, KSU, OU and OSU to the SEC. I'd almost like to see Texas and their LHN and their arrogance get left at the dock when the current Big 12 falls apart.YmoBeThere wrote:I think we are headed to 4 major conferences:

I'm still trying to process this turn of events. Regarding Pitt, Duke shares a long history in football..... beginning with first game in then Duke Stadium was against Pitt on October 5, 1929.

Didn't TAMU mostly leave the Big 12 because of Texas?devildeac wrote:The SEC will get to 16 teams pretty easily, I think. Texas, TT and Mizzou sounds like the most reasonable group to join TAMU. I think so, always losing to your in-state rival has to be difficult. Just ask...
