I'm not giving up..and honestly it wasn't the error of her ways that drove her to get out, it was that she has an extreme case of separation anxiety; I have no doubt that she was merely trying to find me.
Stranger stories have come true that She may end up tired and dirty after a long walk to Morehead City.

Many years ago, My FIL and his father, collected a dog that just showed up at Granddaddy's farm. There was no county shelter at the time. 'Lucky' only had 3 legs. The left rear was gone.
Early one morning, 'Lucky' got to go for a truck ride out 20 miles deep in the country, where he was released to some folks with kids that wanted him. After release, the two guys made a few sales calls to nearby clients along the way home. Granddaddy was a fertilizer rep. (in more ways than one) They also stopped for lunch at the drugstore in town. Late that afternoon when they got home, 'Lucky' was laying on the front porch awaiting them.
He lived there happily ever after.
That farm was the only place that I've ever heard of, where cats, dogs and mice all ate from the same dish...at the same damn time! This
IS a true story.
