I'm bringing my brother as well this year so I'll make him bring some good brown ale as a "cost of admission" contribution to the party.devildeac wrote:Hey, Bob,CameronBornAndBred wrote:Bob you are in luck, you get to taste a practice run! You guys participating in the 4th Annual Eastern BBQ Throw Down is exciting stuff so let me start by wishing you a hearty GOOD LUCK! Living in Japan for extended years like I did really limited my ability to travel to NC and eat good Q so I learned how to make it myself on the backyard grill. Now the first couple of tries ended with some pretty horrible stuff, but over time the old axiom "practice makes perfect" kicked in and I made some decent stuff on my Weber kettle. Currently, I own a big Brinkmann charcoal grill with a side mounted firebox (Father's Day gift) so it will soon be time to cook some more Q. I look forward to hearing some Sea Stories about the Rocky Mount competition.
We'll even have some beer suggestions for you and your Dad .

I'm not picky, standard NC food is fine: BBQ, hush puppies, fried okra, popcorn shrimp, sweet potato pie...you know, nothing special!CameronBornAndBred wrote:Bob you are in luck, you get to taste a practice run! Some grilled corn on the cob and slaw will be good, too .Bob Green wrote:I'm not picky, standard NC food is fine: BBQ, hush puppies, fried okra, popcorn shrimp, sweet potato pie...you know, nothing special!CameronBornAndBred wrote:Bob you are in luck, you get to taste a practice run! Bob, your tickets cover that for all of you, but you can tell your brother whatever you'd like to! ;) I look forward to sampling his choice(s)!Bob Green wrote:
