THANKS for any and all vibes! I simply REFUSE to believe they won't handle this. The good part is that they took her seriously and admitted her today instead of sending her home to worsen and then end up in the ER tonight ..... like they did so many times at Duke. It was late in the day and they hadn't come to a conclusion about what to do, so they wanted her in there to watch her until tomorrow when they will decide what coarse of action to take. This is something new to us. (And did I mention that it's CLEAN?)

She had a good day today.... and yesterday. Let's make it three in a row!

Her Duke PCP (the one we credit for getting her into good enough shape to even have this surgery) phoned yesterday to request that she come in for blood work. He said he would be going out of town this week and wanted to see her numbers before he left in case anything needed to be addressed. Can you IMAGINE such a thing? Practically unheard of.

We are grateful for his pro-active attention. Bless his heart and I ain't kiddin'!

Spent an exhausting night in the ER at Memorial. Diagnosis? Blood cultures came back positive for infection....... again. We haven't been told which bacteria the culprit is this time, but she's on meds and will come home when tests come back clean.

The good news is that CT shows the recent surgery to be in great shape and not compromised. We'll take that at this point and move on.
