Junior and Bowyer are having a BAD streak this last month. I fear that both won't make the Chase.
Martin & Hamlin hurt me early in the season, and Bowyer/Jr have hurt a bit too.

What will be interesting is to see how people deal with life as their allotment of Menard, Smith, and Ragan winds down.

In terms of the Fantasy League standings, knights holds the overall lead, some 50 points over me. I now lead Ymo by 46 points. Trailing Ymo by only 15 points is Usul, who leads Tilly by 192 points. This week's winner, colchar, now trails Tilly by 128 points.

On to Loudon, New Hampshire!!

All the local news has been about how bad the traffic was getting to the track. I'm not surprised...there aren't many roads into the area.

Here's Jay Hart's take on the traffic issue:

15-20,000 fans didn't make it in? OH MY!!

Jay seemed a little pissed. Technically, Kurt Busch actually took the lead away from Blech early in the race.

The owners of the track won't do cash refunds, but will do credits so that people who did not make it can use their tickets to get into any of 6 races that the owners also own. Meanwhile, the governor has called for a committee to meet to decide how to address the transport issues.

In other news, the Biffle crew chief, Irwin, has been relieved of his duties.

So 10,000 people missed the race in Kentucky because they were stuck in traffic.
"For those fans with tickets who were unable to attend Saturday night's event, we will honor their ticket at any remaining 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at a Speedway Motorsports facility, or the 2012 Sprint Cup race at Kentucky Speedway."
The race was sold out a week in advance. The facility seats 107,000, but officials said at least 10,000 never made it to their seats.
They are offering to exchange their tickets for any other race the fans can get to this year.

Interesting that they can now go to ANY race they can get to. Last night, the local WLEXTV listed only a set of races this year... PLUS next year's Kentucky race.

BY THE WAY, Atlanta has also had similar traffic issues for its race.

The estimates range from 10-20,000 people missed out on the race. HORRIBLE!!

Is it the crew chief's fault or the drivers?

Qualifying is done, and Stewart-Haas will start 1,2... but look at what Penske is doing as well:

Starting order:
Newman, Stewart, Reutimann, Kurt, Kes.

Several major points about the race:
1) Stewart Haas started 1,2; Stewart Haas finished 1,2.
2) About 9 cars ran out of gas in the last 1.5 laps.
3) Three of the top ten cars all brought out caution flags, including Hamlin and JJ.
4) Blech blew out a tire early, slamming him into the wall. Kes also had an early visit to the garage.
5) Kurt Busch has moments when he dominates the race, but then drifts further and further down the top ten.
6) JGordon fell down two laps, the result of a busted battery. They replaced it, and he got onto the lead lap with two cautions. He then worked his way into the top 4 or 5, drifted back, then regained his place in the top 5, only to see him lose a top ten finish when he ran out of gas on the last lap.

In fantasy league doings, I won this week with 35 more points than knights, who scored high with 300 points. This means that I now trail knights by a mere 15 points. Ymo is now 90 points away from me in 3rd place, followed by Usul, some 86 points further back. Tilly had a bad week, and is now 213 points behind Usul. colchar is 128 points further back.

Tilly was victimized by her selection of ... BLECH!!!!!! :-o :-o
