Odd but serious question.

Does the area around the anus absorb food, drink, nutrients much like the stomach? For example, if you were to give yourself a Vodka enima, would you feel the effects of alcohol? Seriously. Or if you shoved a vitamin or narcotic up your butt, would it have the same effect?

Let me preface by saying that as a prosecutor, I have no firsthand experience with this, not even on the legitimate pharmaceutical level.

EJ, the area around the anus does absorb narcotics well. I'm not sure about vitamins, but there are people who will take drugs this way. I believe it is supposed to work faster than through ingestion, but I don't know if it is supposed to provide more of a high.

There are pharmaceuticals that are prescribed as suppositories, as well. When my friend Leon, who has a very sensitive stomach, gets the throwing-up flu, he is prescribed anti-nausea medications in a suppository form, because he would throw up the liquid or the pill.

So basically, the anus can work much like the mouth for taking in nutrients and such. If you had severe stomach troubles, or if your mouth were say, blown off by a grenade, a good temporary fix would be to take in food and nutrients through the anus? Good to know. I wonder if a race did this over time if, through evolution, the body would develop teeth for the anus.............."ass teeth," if you will. It's an interesting thought, if a perhaps a bizarre one.

Since I really was unaware of alcohol enemas, I googled it. People use beer, wine and liquor. ARE the younger kids (teens/tweens) doing this?
