A six-month Sports Illustrated/CBS News investigation into the criminal backgrounds of the rosters of SI’s 2010 football preseason top 25 revealed that 7 percent of the players have police records. That's 1 in 14.

Getting parking tickets doesn't make a person a criminal, but $13,000 (395 citations) over 3 1/2 years is excessive.

UW's Venoy Overton is single-handedly attempting to give UNC a run for the money in the criminals category:

He is charged with being a pimp. Overton is the same guy charged during the season with sexual assualt/statutory rape but the authorities opted not to prosecute due to lack of evidence and/or conflicting stories from a witness (the accusers friend stated they both willingly participated in the sexual activity) so he only faced charges of providing alcohol to minors. As bad as things are at Carolina at least the players are not having sex with 16 year olds or pimping their girlfriends.

UW alums are plenty embarrassed according to sports talk radio.

Jennifer Wiley, the tutor who wrote papers for some players, also paid some of the parking tickets. A hearing is scheduled for October 28.
