R.I.P. Clarence Clemons

Post by colchar » June 18th, 2011, 10:29 pm

Clarence Clemons, the saxophonist from Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band for the last forty years, suffered a massive stroke earlier this week and, although the prognosis was originally good, he suffered a setback after a couple of surgeries and passed away today.

Another legend who, sadly, is no longer with us.

This makes me very sad as I have followed Springsteen since about 1972. What a loss for his family, Bruce, the E Street Band and rock and roll.

I feel incredibly sad, but he had such an incredible life! Still love his part in SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN.

He just recently recorded with Lady Gaga. I was really shocked to see him perform with her on TV's American Idol in May.
2014, 2011, and 2009 Lemur Loving CTN NASCAR Champ. No lasers were used to win these titles.

RIP Clarence! And thoughts and prayers to the family, friends, coworkers, and fans. You will be missed, but your music will live on!

Sigh. I loved his music. I saw him in concert twice--the first time was February 28, 1981. All Duke fans remember that day.

Striking out? Well, count me in.
I'm gonna stand right by your side through thick or thin.
Ain't no doubt, gonna win.
A walk through hell ain't bad compared to where we've been.

Oh, you can depend on me
Over and over, over and over. Know that I intend to be
The one who, who always makes you laugh until you cry.
And you can call on me until the day you die.

Years may come and go.
Here's one thing I know:
All my life,
You're a friend of mine.

Love that song. :9f:
