Kansas practice takes place this afternoon. Qualifying tomorrow. Race Sunday. Will not be able to give comments on Sunday, as I'll be driving Raleigh-Land of the Lost the afternoon.

ESPN has a good segment on JamieMac going to Joplin, MO, and visiting the area where he grew up. The home where he grew up was obliterated by the tornado. JamieMac is one of NASCAR's good people.

Somebody won, everyone else lost. Unfortunately, I was at work when it happened.

I listened on radio to the last 50 laps. Kes won it through some magic fuel mileage work, HOLDING off a fast charging Dale Jr. I was cheering hard for Jr, as I selected him... or so I thought. Instead I had him on my bench, replaced by a 17th finishing Juan Montoya. :ymblushing:

In terms of the Fantasy league, I believe knights and Ymo are TIED in the lead. I am now in 3rd, some 100 pts behind, just a scant 6 pts ahead of Usul. Meanwhile, Tilly is creeping up on colchar, a mere 39 pts behind him.

On to Pocono!!

Richard Childress was fined $150,000 and placed on NASCAR probation through the end of the year for punching Blech after Saturday's Truck Series race.

Blech received no penalty, as he was defending himself and trying to avoid the altercation.

Don't forget to get your picks in this week. It's Pocono.

ALSO: Note that Sam Hornish Jr. is taking over for Travis Kvapil this week. It's his first Sprint Cup race this year, after racing the last few years.

Kurt Busch takes the pole, followed by Menard, JGordon, Hamlin, and Regan Smith. Carl Edwards should have had the pole, but he got loose on the last turn before the finish, and dropped 5 positions to 6th.

Weather was hideous today at Pocono. The ARCA race got delayed by fog, and was eventually stopped with rain with about 20 laps to go (the race was a scheduled 80 laps). When it stopped, spotters couldn't see the first turn. Expect crappy weather tomorrow; hopefully it won't shorten the race.

Boogity, boogity, boogity!!!
They're racing at Pocono.
After leading one lap, Busch fell back to third. Hamlin has led the other laps, and Menard is now in second. Edwards holding strong in 4th-ish racing with JGordon.
VERY cloudy conditions. When exactly is it going to rain.
Back in 25th-26th, Harvick has already raced side-by-side with Blech, basically running him into the pit exit lane. Harvick races with RCR, whose owner swung a punch at Blech this week.

Caution at lap 10... debris. No one in the top ten going into the pits. The back half IS pitting. Smoke had some slight damage in the rear running slightly into the wall.

There will be a competition yellow in lap 20.

Most of the TNT coverage has been with all the head games among the RCR drivers (Harvick & Burton) racing next to Blech. Bumping, sharp turning... it's getting nasty! The only thing missing is Bowyer (also RCR). Hamlin(near the lead) can't help Blech, and Joey Frickin' Logano (too young) can't help Blech either.

Caution at lap 18... debris. This will serve as the competition yellow.

After the pits, JPM, Kes, Vickers (all with two tires) move ahead of Hamlin. Wimmer avoids the pits, and starts in second. Hamlin on the radio reports that his clutch is NOT in good shape. This could spell trouble at Pocono, especially on pitting and restarting.

It is REALLY cloudy.
ON the restart, Hamlin takes the lead in 1/3 of a lap.

Don't look now, but Junior is in 5th!! I don't have him this week, and King Marvin has chosen him, BUT... I can't help it. I am pulling for him.

Lap 30: NASCAR has issued warnings to Harvick and Blech. Burton should have gotten one too.

Uh oh... Menard (RCR) is now racing with Blech. Burton right behind.
These three are 12-14th.

By the way, Menard is leading the C list choices so far. Smith is 26th. Labonte 28th.
Kahne in the top 10. Smoke 19th, racing with Bowyer.
Newman 12th. Kes top 10. Harvick 11th. Ambrose 17th. Dinger 28th.
Kurt Busch 3rd. JJ, Edwards, JG all in the top 10.

Lap 35: Hamlin's lead is now 3.2 seconds over JPM.

Laps 42 - 49: Green flag pitting
Harvick had to enter the pits too early.
JJ pitted late... ran out of gas... coasted into the pits.
Hamlin still has the lead.
Blech almost hit a front tire changer.

Menard caught speeding in the pits. He served the penalty, moving back to 31st (instead of 8th). He is still on the lead lap.

Lap 58: Hamlin, JPM, Edwrards, KuBusch, JG, Jr, JJ, Kahne, Harvick, Kes, Newman, Blech, Burton, Ambrose, Smoke, Vickers, Ragan, Biff, Kenseth, Bowyer.
Smith 23rd, Menard 29th.
