Seems time for this thread. I know a lot of people here don't care about the NBA at all, but I think the playoffs are immensely entertaining, and I think this year's installment figures to be especially so.
The Hawks pulled the big upset of Day 1, beating JJ and the Magic in Orlando. As I type this, the Hornets are working on a big Day 2 upset, leading the Lakers by 6 late in the Staples Center, and Shane and the Grizzlies have already pulled one today by upending San Antonio in Game 1.
The Hawks' and Grizzlies' surprise and the Hornets' possible surprise notwithstanding, I expect the favorites to win all three series, and I think that beginning with the Conference Semifinals, there will be all-out battles in both conferences. I'll be excited to watch from then onward.
My prediction for the Finals: Bulls-Lakers, Lakers in 6.
