11 years too late. They make great floats. I wonder how a cheerwine ice cream float in cheerwine would be?

It's cherry-ish.
How long have you lived in Durham and never tired Cheerwine?! By the way, there is Cheerwine ice cream. (Or sherbet)

Let me know if I should try it when I come to Durham in July.

Hey Lavabe, I have a question for you. Have you ever seen the show Zaboomafoo? My kids watched it the other day. It's about these morons that play and dance around with a lemur. The real lemur is smarter than the human hosts, I'm positive. The weird part is that the start of the show has a real lemur which "magically" turns into a talking puppet when it comes into the house. It's pretty silly, but I was just wondering if you'd seen it. It's not often that you get to see lemurs with their own TV shows.

Martin Kratt (one of the brothers) went to Duke and the show was filmed at the Lemur Center.

I really like this show!! This show is why I'm such a huge fan of lemurs. The Kratt bothers do a great job of talking to their main viewers, kids, about animals.

The Kratt brothers also do some work for Nat Geo. I don't think they are morons at all. In fact, I am a bit envious of the job they have.

You're right. Morons is harsh. I didn't mean it quite like that. Just watching them swing on ropes and crash into each other and then wallow around laughing in the mud kind of annoyed me. And the way they spoke a lot of the time was SO childish that even my six year old felt that he was being talked down to. When they were actually in informative mode, they were fine, but when they were in silly mode, they were just too silly, even for a six year old boy. I didn't know that was even possible. So, sorry. I take back moron.

I'm working from home today, and have the local news channel on -- they've had two stories on so far, about semi-trucks overturning and spilling their cargo.

The first was a Krispy Kreme tanker truck - it spilled out a whole load of donut glaze!

The second was a truck carrying cans of Miller beer.

Let's see, we've got two of my four favorite food groups. What's next - a Simplot truck carrying french fries to McDonalds? :D

Re: LTE 2.0

Post by DukeUsul » June 16th, 2009, 3:38 pm

So I've been with my company for 10 years now. The first 8 of those I was lucky enough to have a window office to myself (our Durham office has always been a bit understaffed for the number of offices we had). Then we acquired a company who was headquartered here in town, they closed our satellite office, and moved our small staff into the acquired company's space. All 12 of us got stuck in cubes for a few months!!! Ick. Eventually they started phasing us back into offices in the new building. But for the past year or so I've been in an internal office I've shared with a coworker (thankfully a good friend kind of coworker). But poor him, he's been with the company for 15 years and was back to sharing an office.

Anyway, to make a long story short, they just told me we're splitting up and will be getting our own offices. I have the option to stay where I am and my coworker will be moving to another office.

Anyway.... yipee! I'm sick of not being able to use my speakerphone for the very frequent conference calls I'm on. And I'm sure my officemate is sick of listening to my side of the conversations on these calls all day.
