I Love Bobby Hurley!!!
Thank you Danny Hurley! Thank you Dove products! Thank you networks! Thank you winless Fab Five!!
To anyone and anything that has helped get Bobby back in the spotlight, I love it. Dude is tied with Laettner to me as all-time Duke favorite. He was the Lenny Dykstra of point guards. Hurley was nails. Hurley was grit. Hurley was fearless. Hurley was/is a WINNER!
I'm loving seeing him back on tv, on radio, etc. I love hearing him tell accounts of owning the Fab Five and letting people know, "Hey, I was an inner city kid too."
This post is meant to be a Hurley love fest, because, well, I LOVE Bobby Hurley!!

Umm, what did Danny Hurley have to do with the commercial? Danny is head coach of Wagner, and he hired Bobby to be an assistant. Is that why you're thanking Danny?EarlJam wrote:Thank you Danny Hurley! Thank you Dove products! Thank you networks! Thank you winless Fab Five!!

I hated him at the time; and I understand the hate. But articles about him that have run in years past have me liking the dude. A blue collar working tough guy. Flawed? Yes. Anyway...wilson wrote:EarlJam wrote:Lenny Dykstra

Yes. Hurley started getting more press when Danny hired him. Hurley himself thanked Danny on Atlanta radio today for getting him back "on the scene" in hoops today.Lavabe wrote:Umm, what did Danny Hurley have to do with the commercial? What station interviewed him? 790 the Zone? Do they have it posted as an mp3 like they do with some of their other interviews?
Thanks,

My comment was for Lavabe, not you. Lav clearly did not sufficiently exercise his reading comprehension skills before lodging his bewildered question.EarlJam wrote:Cut me a little slack here please? And while you're pretty tall, you're not quite "vertically imposing," as Lav is (speaking of reading comprehension).

Perhaps, but I would still crush Lavabe in a game of one-on-one hoops. Yes, Lavabe, that IS a challege! It's ON!!wilson wrote:My comment was for Lavabe, not you. Lav clearly did not sufficiently exercise his reading comprehension skills before lodging his bewildered question.

Re: I Love Bobby Hurley!!!
Hurley, GREATEST PG in ACC history. Tough, determined, BADASS!!
Also, the most unassuming, unpretentious star player I've ever witnessed in person. I remember EJ and I standing in line for the Duke-UNC game in 1990 at Cameron - The day they retired Art Heyman's jersey - and Grant and Thomas Hill walked by. They were very dapper, with suits on, wool overcoats, dressed to the 9's. About 2 minutes later, here comes Hurley...dressed like a college kid with a coat and sneakers on, laughing it up with us in line with that goofy grin. It was AWESOME!!

They interviewed Bobby tonight. Cathy told me that we'd beat UK tonight on ESPN Classic, too. She was right. Great Ghosts of Lavabe.
