How many teeth do you have?

I have not had a cavity in years, so I must ask, on a related question, how many teeth do you have?

I once had a student have all 6 of hers removed. Supernumery teeth stink!
There is an old joke, of which I only remember the punch line - "get them young before they grow teeth!". I decided not to work it into the "older woman" thread, but thought I'd interject it here.Sue71 wrote:I had all 5 of mine removed.Lavabe wrote:I had all 3 of mine removed.YmoBeThere wrote:All 4 of my wisdom teeth were removed. I've had four of my six removed. The fifth is out (ie. through the gums) and causes no problems. The sixth is too far up in my cheek for them to get at it and they say there is no point in getting rid of it as doing so carries the potential of caving in my cheekbones (or nasal cavity or whatever) if anything goes wrong.Lavabe wrote: I once had a student have all 6 of hers removed.
Wait a sec... and I post this seriously. 6 wisdom teeth? Six??? I thought my 5th was an abomination. I'm fairly normal compared to these freaks.colchar wrote:I've had four of my six removed. Both my brother and I had six.

Why, YES! Even the ones I paid for. I still have two baby teeth.Miles wrote:Welllll... are they?captmojo wrote:I had a an old woman, up in the mountains, ask me once...

Haven't grown up yet?
How long has it taken? I was 90% with almost no pain within a few days, and fully healed within a couple weeks. I wouldn't think it would take longer than that, barring infection.Miles wrote:I'm starting to feel like it's taking a bit too long for my mouth to heal after my wisdom teeth were extracted. I've got three places in my mouth where little fragments are working there way to the surface. I'm also getting ear aches. I have an appointment with my dentist in a week or two. I'm ready for my mouth to feel normal again.
Fascinating! Which two? How old are you? That's just wild. Do you have permanent teeth below them, or were they just missing? My dad has a bridge about halfway back on his left side where the baby tooth fell out and there was just no permanent tooth to replace it. I actually just found that out the other day. I had always assumed he'd had to have one pulled or got it knocked out.captmojo wrote:Why, YES! Even the ones I paid for.
