We did this once on DBR and it was pretty cool. Let's keep it going. You may add two sentences at a time and must not post back-to-back (i.e, follow up to your own post). Also, "...and it was all a dream..." is not allowable.

So here we go. Let's write a story. I'll start with an intro, and someone shall follow up with one or two sentences. The story ends in one week.

THE NIGHT

The hot shower provided a tsunami of endorphines for Jane, who was tired from being on her feet all day. Closing her eyes, she shook her head to rid the water from her long, glowing, auburn hair.

"God I needed this," she thought to herself.

As she had done every night for three years at 10:00 p.m., she stepped out of the safety of the shower, expecting the usual soothing wrap-up of another day, retiring to the worry-free comfort of clean silk sheets and soft cool pillows and a deep, care-free sleep (Jane had been taught by the Eastern masters for years and had long learned and been trained how to leave her worldly concerns on the hallway side of the bedroom door's threshhold).

But wait. As one foot landed upon the black tile bathroom floor, the other still in the shower, she realized something now was wrong. Different. Always a woman of strong heightened senses, Jane trusted her intuition, and suddenly, she felt.......afraid. Very afraid. Adrenline quickly conquered her endorphines as the night shifted suddenly from a Travel Channel vacation getaway program to an unpredictable Rod Serling Twilight Zone episode. Something - perhaps a chill through the air or a whiff of intuition told Jane to look up. She did.

"Oh God. Oh my God."

Her breath punched her. What she saw knocked her to the mat.

[Okay ya'll, have at it....]

In the distance she saw him, a brief flash on the glowing screen of the TV which had been left on while she enjoyed her late evening refresher. The break-up had been very difficult those three years ago and she hadn't heard from him in nearly two years, but there he was if only for a brief second.

Fortunately she had hit the record button on her DVR when she learned that the episode was exploring resorts in Sri Lanka, but what the hell was he doing there? The last time they spoke, he promised to call her the next day.
