Do you pronounce it "Car mul"?
Maybe "Car a mel"
"CARE A Mel"?
Or maybe a totally different way?
I actually pronounce it all these different ways. Not sure why, I just do. lol

The town next to one I grew up in was Carmal. The one in California is car mell - the stuff in candy is carmal...at least that is how I say them.

It depends on how much I've had to drink.

My dentist won't let me have the food one. Check that--he would LOVE to re-do all of my dental work, but he's told me that caramels will ruin what he's done.
So, the only one I talk about is the village in California, pronounced CarMELL. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

I pronounce it, "crock-foggle" and only eat it after a good, strong and arguably healthy injection of Guatamalen Heroin.

It's funny, I pronounce it different ways for different things. I say carmel apples, but if I'm just talking about the confection, I say caramel. It's the same for me with pecans. I pronounces the pie differently than just the nut on its own. Probably comes from my AF brat upbringing. All my different pronunciations have started to blend. It's why most people say I have no accent. They've all canceled each other out. Northerners think I'm from the South. Southerners think I'm from the North. Easterners... well you get the point. ;)

Caramel.
The only way to say it (with 3 syllables).
