My husband is with Tommy in the ER right now. Tommy's having a chest x-ray and an EKG. He's been sick but we don't know what's wrong. He woke up in the middle of the night complaining of chest pains and that his heart was pounding. Hubby took him to the doctor today where he was sent on to the ER. I'm home with the other 3, 2 of whom are also sick but luckily, no heart pounding.

Thanks guys, he's being admitted to MGH. At this point we're hoping it's pneumonia. It didn't show up as pneumonia on the x-ray but it may be that it's in the very early stages.

With regard to the chest pains, has he been taking anything with Sudafed (pseudoephedrine HCl, or something like that) in it? I was waking up in the middle of the night with similar symptoms and tracked it back to the 24 hr Sudafed I was taking as a part of my H1N1 regimen. Things got much better when I quit taking it. Benadryl has a similar effect.

The CTN Vibe Nation is on this like white on rice!!!! We're joining in with all the vibes we can muster from the dump on the hump!!!! Personal experience has taught us the power of Blue Devil Vibes. Breathe and believe. It's all gonna be okay. Keep us posted as often as possible.

Alright, that sounds encouraging. We'll pour on more vibes and prayers from Pennsylvania to get him the rest of the way home and healthy. Children do NOT belong in hospitals. Ever.

(OK, I can think of one small exception - a broken arm or stitches or something minor like that, where you get a cool story to tell your friends when you're back on the playground).
