Margaritas: Frozen or On the Rocks?

Post by Miles » September 18th, 2009, 2:53 pm

How do you like your margaritas? I prefer mine on the rocks. I especially enjoy cadillac margaritas but find myself quite perturbed when the bartender or server decides to float my Grand Marnier for me. X(

I just don't find myself enjoying frozen beverages.

A margarita is not one of my favorites! I won't be ordering that one, thank you anyway.

I can honestly say that I've never had one. But I do like Strawberry Daiquiris - do they count? Actually, some of the best of those I've ever had have been virgins with no alcohol to mask the full flavour of the berries.

We are both on the rocks, no salt people. I don't like brain freeze, especially when I'm killing brain cells without the freeze! :))

Yep, no salt for me either. Save it for that rotgut tequila. If it's good tequila, you should be able to sip it straight up like bourbon.

I prefer on the rocks, no salt, and not a ton of tequila.

It depends. Good tequila == rocks. Rail tequila == frozen. So I voted rocks, since if I had my preference it would be good tequila.

I do like salt.

On the rocks, salt, and no mix (only lime juice, simple syrup, tequila and cointreau). Sometimes I shake things up a bit by taking a habanero, poking a few holes in it and setting it in the simple syrup for an hour or so before taking it out. This will add some nice heat to the marg.

Frozen, no salt.

ExLax gave me a Margaritaville machine 3 years ago for my birthday. When we split up, he decided to take it, which confirms what I'd thought all along: he was giving a gift to himself.

I'd love to get another Margaritaville, but I'll wait until they make them in something other than that ugly green color.
