Ghost Hunters

I was watching this show on SyFy the other day, Ghost Hunters International.
The premise is simple. A team of Amateur experts go out into the world and they go a-huntin' paranormal activities.
Now let's put the ghostly aspect of this aside for the moment and proceed to my point.

On this episode the team went to Italy to explore this castle that had a lot of things happening. Now this Castle was built like 400 years ago and some nasty things happened back then to some folks and continued for other folks over time for the next few hundred years. Did I mention that this was Italy, where they speak Italian.

So the team waited until like nightfall, turned off all the lights to the castle, turned on all their little gizmos and such, and started walking around the joint looking for little Casper and his buds.
Thats fine and dandy, no problem up 'til now.
This is a castle, and the team was going to bunk out there for the night, so after they went looking around for a few hours, they decided to retire to each of their respective rooms and go to sleep. Before one guy went to sleep, he asked if there was "someone" in the room and if they wanted him to leave.
Nothing was heard until afterwards when they played back a recording from the electronic gizmo used to record.
There was apparently an answer to his question as to whether "they" wanted the team to leave the castle.

The answer was caught on tape, and it was a whisper... YES. The answer to his question.
This is where I am a little confused/miffed
They are in Italy. Italy is spoken and has been for like ever! One would assume they further back in time one would go, the less likely someone would be speaking ENGLISH, yet there is supposedly this voice of a ghost that responded to the question with a "Yes".
How does an italian ghost, dead for probably 400+ years, understand a question posed in English, and then answer it in English?!!
It doesn't make sense and me thinks someone is trying to pull a fast one on the audience. I do not watch this show regularly for the very reason above: The language issue.

So am I nuts or wrong or on the money and should invest my time in a better show... like that "Glee" show (which I hear is good but sounds too much like the old "Fame" show... remember?) or a pleasant test pattern on Hulu?

If the ghost only new Italian, how would it even know what the question is/was?

Well let's see, in english, "do you want me to leave"
to italian, "farla mi vuole partire"

response....
in English - "Yes",
in italian - "sì"

I can see why you are confused! Unless they spoke a hint of English, I can see the similarities!!!

Lots of times on the show the EVP's they get are not in English. That doesn't answer the "how do they understand" question, but it does happen. Even the original show has recorded other language EVP's in the states.

Maybe it was the camera man responding because Douche Bag McDoucherton was in the camera man's room. :-D :-bd
