If the professor on Gilligan's Island can make a radio out of a coconut, why can'the fix a hole in a boat? Anyone else ever wonder that?

The hole was bigger than the radio. Also, if I was stuck on an island with Mary Anne, I don't want to be rescued.

'Cuz like more booksmart folk, they may not have the street smarts to peel a banana much less patch up a boat/
Besides, Wouldn't the skipper be a better judge of how to repair a boat? Ya would think, wouldn't ya?

If you remember the story of the pirogue trip in my Madagascar thread, you'll know that there's no need to patch up the boat if you can scoop out the water. :D

Never mind fixing the boat - what about all those other people that kept showing up on the island and then leaving...you would have thought they could have hitched a ride or at the very least the weekly guest visitors would have mentioned the location upon their return to civilization....and why did they bring sooooo much stuff for a three hour tour?

Buy the premise, buy the bit :D

I never saw him go after either of them...maybe he was more into Gilligan or the skipper.

I always figured he was into the skipper as he always was looking for the Skipper. Or maybe he was more into Mrs Howell.... betcha he thought she could fund his experiments any day, I always suspected!

I assumed it was Gilligan and the Skipper - I mean come on, what guy refers to another guy as 'little buddy' ?

Ya gotta remember, it was back in the 60's. Being a gay old bachelor didn't mean the same thing then as it does now...

You would have to be suicidal to sleep in the bottom hammock.

It's the ship's fault. It simply refused to let anyone, much less several people, touch its "boathole." ;)

Do you blame it? How would you feel if someone said they could fix your boathole with a couple of coconuts?
