Football officially starts tonight!

I would post this in the stadium, but it ain't about Duke, so I'm sticking it up here. In a couple hours South Carolina and NC State go head to head. I'll be watching and pulling for the pack. And drinking beer. And thinking about the better game this Saturday.

Yea, baby. I'll be watching too. I'll be torn though. I have nothing against the puppies, per se, but I've always had a soft spot for the old ball coach, especially since he coached at Duke and I missed having him as coach by like three years.

I was on I-40 east between Kernersville and Greensboro early this afternoon when I noticed an inordinate number of red and garnet colored cars and trucks. Some had flags and others lots of decals... then I remembered the game in Carter-Finley!

This is a difficult choice to make.....

I'll most likely be in the chat room game time.

Maybe I'll be for South Carolina. Weslye Saunders (6' 5", 280 lbs.), graduate of Durham Riverside High School, is a TE for the Gamecocks (88). His dad is Barry Saunders.

I think I'll pull for N.C. State... I might end up there (probably/hopefully not though).

As I posted on your FB status, someone needs to let the Wolfpack know that the season has started. They haven't shown up for the game yet.

I always crack up at how college head football coaches are surrounded by numerous state troopers for "security."

As far as I know, Cutcliffe was the first coach to do this at Duke. If not, they made a big deal about it anyways.

I'm sure many other people said it first, but hearing Lou Holtz give his line "Happiness is nothing more than having a poor memory" had me literally laughing out loud. ("If you can't remember it, it didn't happen"). The whole Dr. Lou thing is beyond goofy, but he looks and acts like he totally understands that. Natural comic.

At least this game is better than skins who apparently forgot there was a game to play tonight also! :-?

Will State maintain this level of play the rest of the season? It's too much to hope for!

Hopefully they pick it up for the Duke game so we can beat them when they are at their best :D . And can we wish for another unc-State score like last year? Maybe the pack can beat them :ymsick: by even more this year!

I saw the final score. Looks like someone forgot to tell the 'Pack that FB season started tonight... :))

That automatically means I shall NEVER root for the 'cocks. I abso-frickin-lutely despite that POS.

Ahem, I noted that in the first quarter. ;)

Weslye is a really good kid and a very good football player. I feel some loyalty because of the Riverside connection. I'm so glad he's playing for Coach Spurrier and not over at the other Carolina. Don't let his relatives prevent you from appreciating him.
