Any CrazieTalkers want to be CrazieWalkers?

In conjunction with ditching the cigarettes Windsor (yes I refer to myself in the third person sometimes) is going to walk/run (mostly walk...well probably totally walk) the 5k Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving.

Wondering if any of the other CrazieTalkers want to join up for a virtual walking group - Tilly is in I bet.

'We're walking...yes indeed we're walkin'.....'

If you had put money on it in Vegas, you'd have won! I'm definitely in!

This reminds me of two things, "We're walking, we're walking, we're walking, and... we're stopping." Movie anyone?

It also reminds me of the Veggie Tales song, "Keep Walking", where the Jews are trying to take down the walls of Jericho in the dessert. They are walking around the walls as God told them to do, and the soldiers of Jericho are singing:

Keep walking, but you won't knock down our wall,
Keep walking, but she isn't going to fall!
It's plain to see, your brains are very small,
if you think that walking... will be knocking down our wall.

Did they REALLY put that in a Veggie Tales?

Um, yea, why? Actually, I think they called them the Israelites in that tale. I haven't watched it in a while, so I have trouble remembering exactly who was who in their stories at any one time.

About half their stories involve old testament stuff. They also have "Dave and the Giant Pickle" (David v. Goliath).

Most Christian based religions realize that if it weren't for the Jews, we wouldn't have Chrisianity. The old testament is covered in most religions. One of the Faith Formation classes I taught we spent a good deal of time on the old testament, essentially learning that every time the Jews pulled away from G-d (did I do that correctly?) he would do something, i.e a covenant, that would bring them back to him. For Christians, the last (as in, there haven't been any others, not THE last) covenant was the sending of his son.

Come one down to Clearwater - we've got 5k Race (Wing Ding) , 5k fun walk/run, 10k race (Turkey Trot) and 1 mile walk (Gobbler)...take your pick (serious runners do the 5k and 10k) :ymhug:

And, the weather will probably be better in Clearwater than in Bahstahn.

Thanksgiving is usually jeans and t-shirt weather (the first race starts at 7 am, so I would probably have a light jacket on if I were watching) if it gets REALLY cold it might be 60 at 7 am......brrrrrr

Count me in. Don't know about the Turkey Trot - depends on my pie schedule for Thanksgiving. I have actually been contemplating the 3 day MS walk but need to check into it a bit more.

Thanks for the invite, I'm looking for a local Turkey Trot. There are several, I'm just trying to to decide which one will let me get home in time to cook the dinner too.
