Sounds like Betty White hitting what's his name on the head with a frying pan (and killing him) on Boston Legal a few years ago!

A friend of our family had a similar incident way back in the '50s, only she killed him with one shot from an iron skillet.
When my parents were first married, mom slaved over some pancakes and burnt them. Dad made a comment and she slammed this flimsy little spatula so hard, straight down into the solid steel skillet, that it put a nasty gash in it all the way down to the inner materials. They still have the skillet. It was such a perfect shot that it didn't even bend the spatula. He NEVER commented on her cooking in a negative way again.
