Does this go in Basketball? Football? Or the Twilight Zone?! Congrats to GP, new starting quarterback for Syracuse.

Wow. I have to say, I initially thought Greg's Syracuse adventure would largely be just a means to get a year of grad school on scholarship. Congrats to him, and go Orange (though I fear they're gonna stink again).

Way to go, man. Syracuse must have some really shitty prospects at QB. Not saying that GP is bad. I'm just saying that he hasn't worn pads in four years, and if he can just walk in and take the starting job that fast, the Orangemen couldn't have had much in the way of field leadership at the QB position. Worries me a little about how the rest of the team is. No matter how good he is, a guy that hasn't played in four years is gonna have some rust, and will NEED to have some good pieces around him to help bail him out once in a while.

I thought the whole football angle was born out of Eron Riley's tryout with the Packers. GP threw to Eron in front of Packers scouts, and the scouts were impressed by GP's skills. GP decide, or was encouraged, to use his 5th year of eligibility to possibly prep for the NFL.

That was also my impression, Tilly. However he got to this point, what a great way for Greg to use that fifth year of eligibility!

I figure we could use a thread to keep up with Paulus and his Syracuse activities this fall.
Exciting news!

Paulus named starting QB!
How do you all think he will do this year? I have pretty high hopes for him
(Yeah, I stole it off of the "other" site)

Okay, you just basically quoted the opening post of this thread by CB&B, AND linked the same espn article. I'm so confused. Or did this just get moved from another thread? In which case, I apologize. Still confused though. Is there something in the post that denotes it was moved?

I moved it. He posted his in football after this thread was a few posts deep. I thought it would leave a shadow, but it didn't.

Nice read about GP3's decision to choose college hoops over college football.
