I love watching Tiger Woods because I love watching sports greatness. I remember there being a lot of talk on the DBR about the overrated, overexposed Tiger Woods (apparently these people don't see the irony in getting mad when others say the same about Duke) and always thinking how sad it must be to not be able to enjoy greatness.

Often times the Tiger haters are rabid Phil Mickelson fans (known as FIGJAM to his colleagues on tour, a place where he has no friends, which says a lot to me). The reality, though, is that the two aren't on the same level. And it isn't even close.

Tiger Woods:
14 years pro
70 PGA Tour wins
14 majors
Won at least 4 tournaments 11 times (didn't in 1996, 1998, 2004)

Phil Mickelson:
18 years pro
36 PGA Tour wins
3 majors
Won at least 4 tournaments 3 times (it's easier just to say the years he's done it--1996, 2000, 2005).

Phil is a fine player, on par with Vijay Singh. Tiger is one of the greats of all time, on par with Nicklaus.

I don't hope runs away with it because, IMO, he's most fun to watch when he takes control of a major when being pushed.

There is no doubt Tiger is one of the best golfers ever.

While I enjoy watching Tiger play, I root for Padraig. Mainly for two reasons, he's not Tiger and everyone, or just about everyone pulls for Tiger. But, also because Padraig is Irish. I love that he won the British open. :D :D No offense Colchar. ;) ;)

Don't get me wrong, I am not anti-Tiger. Sometimes, I like to take the road less traveled.

The clock is ticking. :!! When will throaty appear with his patented rant against Tiger? ;)

And remember... if Tiger wins this major, the recession/depression will be officially over. :-bd

Tiger and Yang are in the lead 6 under entering the back nine of the final round.

The golf course is winning.

Yang and Woods are 3 clear of the next golfers.

Opening shots on 10 were SICK:
Yang... drives it a couple yards away from the sand, popping off the rough twice, and into the fairway.
Woods... drives it into the trees, and gets it knocked back into the fairway.

HOLD ON FOLKS... this is getting VERY wacky.

As of his made putt, he is now 1 behind Yang. He better start running quickly.

And he hits his tee shot right over the flag stick (par 3) but it goes over the green. Yang is on the green. Now he's not only in deep shit but deep rough, too. :o

Probably.

You have to hand it to Yang. He hit a "Tiger-esque" shot into the 18th green to about 8 feet, Tiger missed the green (again into deep rough), then two putted. Yang made his putt to win by 3 shots.

Maybe one day they'll call it a Yang-esque shot.
