It didn’t help that the refs swallowed their whistles and let a game of football break out. “Physicality” translates to cheap fouls not getting called. Amazed that the play that injured Sion didn’t draw a whistle. “Tough physical screen” should’ve equaled foul. That didn’t look clean to me; same for several other no-calls.CameronBornAndBred wrote: ↑November 12th, 2024, 11:39 pmPoop.
Only one turnover the whole first half, and then the best player on the floor makes two costly ones at the end of the game to seal the loss.![]()
The refs didn't make us miss a dozen short chippies.ArkieDukie wrote: ↑November 13th, 2024, 7:23 amIt didn’t help that the refs swallowed their whistles and let a game of football break out. “Physicality” translates to cheap fouls not getting called. The team rebounding in this one is what won us the game. Everyone who played at least ten minutes bagged at least three boards. We were active on the box outs, and relentless in pursuit. Given that the refs weren't calling a lot of fouls, I thought we were very strong against a lot of contact, everywhere on the floor. They wanted to make it a blue collar game, and we reminded them what color our uniforms are.CameronBornAndBred wrote: ↑November 23rd, 2024, 12:40 amA very impressive road win tonight. What a performance by Coop!

Great game! At first, I was afraid that we would continue to get "knocked back" due to Auburn's strength and physicality -- and their shooting ability. I am immensely encouraged by what we saw: Our guys are tough, they don't back down, and we do have many weapons.CameronBornAndBred wrote: ↑December 5th, 2024, 12:12 amWhat a game tonight!!! Welcome to the big time, Mr. Evans!
Unfortunately his first half didn't shine through to the second, but that's ok since the whole team played great. Actually, that's not true, because Kon had an off night offensively and we still got the job done.
I was really impressed that we finally played with poise at the end, and held the lead despite getting worked over by both Auburn and the refs.

(Also, Tennessee got absolutely smoked tonight. They had 15 points in the first half.)
