As always, this is the thread to share any gameday tailgate thoughts that aren't menu & attendance related.

Combined with homecoming and the opponent AND being on ABC in prime time, I'm expecting Blue Devil Alley to be packed!

It just dawned on me that hotels may not be easy to get on gameday. I just booked mine.
Normally I'd stay with Tim or my stepmom, but just like with Clemson I know I won't be leaving the lot until 1:30am at the earliest.

I'll be setting up the tailgate around 9am.

Most of the nicer hotels are sold out.
You can get a room at the Millenium Hotel close to campus for $120/night on Hotwire.

My fridge is now stuffed with two fourteen pound briskets.

Both are getting smoked overnight this Friday, along with two 10lb pork butts I am doing for a local event here in New Bern the day after our tailgate.

I can already smell my clothes that Julie will be putting in the wash Saturday night. The odor will be one of a well employed chimney sweep.

I made my hotel reservation last Saturday after the Northwestern game. Green Family is staying at Courtyard by Marriott off Hillandale.

It just dawned on me that with the game being on ABC, we'll be able to watch in real time with the antenna instead of a streaming delay under the tents.

Of course, hopefully we'll all be watching in real time anyway in the stadium!

Day = Partly cloudy skies. High 76F. Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph.

As far as I can see today, they did not announce where they will set up. They like having something significant as a backdrop. This week was touchdown Jesus. Last week was a nice mountain. I would guess they want the chapel in Durham, maybe Cameron.
The new feature this year of the field goal contest requires a ~40 yard field near the site. Fitting it all in near Cameron would be tough and also disrupt all the setups for the Devil's gate stuff. I am guessing it will be set up near the main quad bus stop.

I assume they have all their logistics people in Durham today trying to figure it all out with Duke staff.

Just an FYI, Gameday runs from 9-12. If anyone is coming early to walk over and enjoy the festivities, I'll be at our tents by 9, setting up. Once I have the trailer unloaded, I'm going to head over to check out the setup and read a few signs.

My Dear Wife, of Baked Iced Lemon Cake fame, insisted that I raise a singularly shout out sign on Game Day. Any ideas? Any of you who submit winning entries will be duly attributed on the sign itself, albeit in graphically proportionate [i.e., teeny weeny] font size. But also you will receive an extra morsel of Lemon Cake! First 50 respondents receive blenders! Thanks in advance!

btw, isn't having College Game Day for FOOTBALL??!! a hoot? Good times, folks, and thank you, Coach Elko, and everyone in the program for making the possible. Fun and Game On!

My first tailgate with TBCC was in 2009 and it was in Blue Devil Alley. This is when I flew home from Japan to visit my Dad and I made sure to schedule my visit when Duke had a home game.
