Looking forward to this! Hopefully we can get the boys a nap early so they'll stay up late at the game / tailgate! Christina will be a handful with her alma mater playing in Durham.

It's a Tie Dye Give Away!!
Any attendees in our group at the Clemson tailgate can walk home with a free shirt I made a few years back. Two designs, mottled and swirled, hand screen printed with "I'd Rather Be In Cameron".
Every shirt is unique, literally no two are alike. I've got almost all sizes, including for kids. (You'll have to dig through, I'm not walking away from the grill to pull one out, lol.)

Not sure if this is the right thread for two questions as a newbie,
1] Asking for a friend: He hopes it's not sacrilegious to broach, but in past tailgates he has greatly enjoyed the daily games going on with likewise football fanatics [he doesn't know what the TV schedule will be for this coming Labor Day] and he just enjoys watching football games, so...are there devices available for watching any good CFB games on the telly? [My friend says that he could help with this.]
2] Approximately what time of day do most folks show up for an 8 pm KO? Don't want to show up too early! Though I'm glad to help...and talk...and imbibe. [btw, my friend said that I could ask this question on my own. He's a good guy, always looking out for me, and he loves Duke!]

I hope that person is busy! That being said, in the past we've had staff join us at least loooong before the game, and after. (With game balls!)

All of the games will be on our TV under the tents. This comes in extra handy during very hot games, very wet games, or during blowouts...both the good and bad kind.
As far as when to show up? EARLY! Ha! For those with drop-off passes, you have to be there three hours prior, otherwise you can't get into the Card lot. For everyone else, totally up to you, although the Devil's Walk is fun and it's 2 hours before game time I think.
For the Clemson game (8PM kick), I'm going to be setting up around 10am. For any game, 10am is the latest I'll be there, for early kicks it will be closer to 7. Feel free to come and sip a Bloody Mary with me.

Dear CB&B,
Thank you for your answers.
The football staff potential invitee is likely to be very busy on 9/4, but I would like to convey her the courtesy. She bleeds very deep blue and would likely be encouraged by the spirit of our tailgate. Maybe she can do just a drop-by.
Which leads me to my unanswered question: When do folks show up for an 8 pm KO? My football staff friend may be able to come by earlier, but I don't know when too early is.
Glad that there will be TV for football, and not for Cornhole, CSpan2, Animal Planet, Synchronized Swimming or Auction Roadshow.
Off-thread: My dear wife and I just went to Whole Foods to procure the ingredients for Baked Ice Lemon Cake. Supply chain is geared up, ready to go.

CB&B, Thank you! My Very Dear Wife, of Baked Ice Lemon Cake fame, will drop me off so I don't have to worry about parking.
Do you have all the fixins' for a great Bloody Mary [Good mixes, horseradish, pickle juice, lemon, Worchestershire, bacon, celery, ice, etc?] Always ready to help a fellow Duke in need...or to appreciate, with gratitude, a BM from one of my betters.

Thanks, CB&B, Not likely to improve on your Bloody Marys, but maybe add some alternatives. Oops ,I forgot to mention the Clam Sauce! What kind of Vodka or Gin do you like? I typically go with Tito's in part because I love Austin.
Sorry, one other Q: Should I bring my own ice?
Hopefully, I'll be lower maintenance as I learn the ropes and savor the sauce.

I received an email from Duke Athletics that my season tickets are available to download. That’s a nice birthday present.
Will you still need me? Will you still feed me? When I’m 64.
