Bud & Nancy Shelton

Dear Crazie Talk Friends and Family,
Donna Shelton just called me. She asked me to post here to let you all know that her dad, Bud Shelton, has metastatic melanoma (which first appeared in 2007) and is now under hospice care. The end of his earthly life is rapidly approaching. Donna and her sister Dawn are caring for Bud, and for their mom, Nancy, who has had several strokes recently.
Some of you may recall that Nancy and Bud sold their place in Efland earlier this year and moved to Duplin County, NC to be near Donna's sister, Dawn. Donna lives about 90 minutes away from them. The plan was that Dawn and Donna would look after their parents as they aged. They didn't count on Bud's leaving them so soon.
Please surround the Shelton family with love, good vibes, and prayers as Bud transitions from this life into the next. And pray for Nancy, too, as she continues to heal and progress since having this series of strokes recently.
Donna has been away from the internet while she's been caring for her folks, and she promises to be back online soon. She sends her love to all.
I'm heartbroken for our friends, as I know all of you are, too.
Love to all,
Cathy

So sorry to hear this, Both Bud and Nancy have been a source of many smiles for me, as well as a warm bed when needed for tailgating. It was always fun listening to them share memories with my own dad.
Hugs and love to Donna and her family.

This news hurts my heart. There aren’t two better folks anywhere. They were right in there with gentle support for us when we were fighting for Sarah’s life. I’ll never forget it.
How fortunate they are to have those two capable and loving daughters on their team. Dan and I are returning those powerful cyber vibes crazietalk is famous for to the entire family and all who hold them dear.
Love, Ima

Edited the thread title. I just got back from Bud's memorial celebration, and it was wonderful seeing his family. Unfortunately, Nancy wasn't there. She suffered a massive stroke this morning and Donna is with her in the hospital.
Hugs to all.

That’s terrible news for Donna, Dana and the family, but so common (not the stroke) when one long time spouse dies for the other to pass quickly soon after.
Love and vibes to all}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Christmas is going to be a lot colder now and so will be the whole world. The Sheltons did a LOT to keep us all feeling warm. We're all going to have to pitch in to try and fill the voids they leave; plant more gardens, make more canned goods for our shelves and for others, smile more to light up more faces, cheer louder for our Devils. As Anne Morrow Lindbergh writes, "The seeds of love must be eternally resown."
Love, Ima
