Wooohooo!!!! It's almost Tailgate Season again! I mean football season...yeah.
I'm starting our pre-game M&A and Social Discussion threads a little earlier than usual for the opener, mostly simply because I'm so excited!

For the new folks joining us, and the old hats, here's a quick outline of how things work. Before each game, we'll have two threads. One is the Menu & Attendance Thread (M&A), which is for you to check in with how many folks will be joining you, along with if you intend to bring anything to the literal table in way of a side dish or dessert. Letting me know how many of you are coming is important since it helps cut down on waste, while also ensuring nobody goes into the game hungry.

I've got the menu fully covered, but additions are welcome, as long as its not something that you swung by and picked up at the Bojangles drive-thru on your way in. We love our home cooked menus, so leave the pre-packaged cookies on the shelf.

The other thread is the Social Discussion thread. That one is for discussing the weather, how you know the wide receiver playing for our opponent, or any other game day whimsy. The intention is to keep the M&A less cluttered and focused only on the topic at hand.

And with that explained, it's time to look at our night with Temple! Night games are great of course, but Friday night games less so, since due to parking issues I won't be setting up my grill on campus in the morning. (I'll still be setting up before the lots open, however.) With time constraints in mind, it sets up perfectly for a Mexican Menu.

August West, party of one. I don’t know what I will be bringing yet but I’ll update in about 10 days. I’m currently rehabbing from hip surgery and will probably be limited as to what I can carry. Until then, LGD!

My kids are all in college, so I first read this as you taking an exam to see if you had learned anything about murder. Then I realized that I wasn't that far off, really.

Thanks! I doubt the autopsy will be back, so defense attorney may stipulate the cause of death, or he may not. There's not a lot of doubt on that when the defendant put a shotgun blast through the victim's throat, but some defense attorneys want to have all the paperwork in for prelim.

Friday nights should truly be left to high schools. Sigh.

You folks up for two hangers-on? Myself and Mrs. Phredd would like to give the True Blue Cue Crue another shot. We were distracted by our son last time, and barely met you good folks. I'd like to change that, and see if I can actually put names and faces together this time. We'll have money for the cookie jar, and I'll see if we are courageous enough to make a dessert or something to bring with us.

For those who want drop off passes - We have eight (8) available for each game, so no shortage. I just got them in today (Friday) and I am mailing the Temple game passes to Chris today. If you want a drop off pass, you will have to text Chris just before you get to the Card Gym Lot and he will meet you at the gate with the pass. The passes MUST be used 3 or more hours before the game! So you must arrive BEFORE 4:30 for the 7:30 game! If you don't have Chris's cell number to text to, contact me by phone or email and I'll get it to you.

That "use more than 3 hours before the game" rule applies to ALL GAMES. See my post in the Social game thread.

I will have the balance of the passes at the Temple game to hand out if you want them for the season. Those that go unclaimed on Friday night I will keep for anyone who wants them later. If you are not going to be at Friday night's game but want drop off passes for the rest of the season, let me know that before next Friday!

Gary and LeeAnn Dean will be there, not sure what they will bring yet.

I just can’t make a Friday night game from the coast, but I would very much like a drop off pass for the remaining games. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

That’s perfect! That’s the way this thread works, especially when you give Chris enough notice to plan!

Hey CB&B, as of today I will not be able to attend tailgate. The Covid bug has bitten me. I would love to be there but I will not put anyone else at risk. Thanks, AW.

Sam and I will be at the game. Not sure we'll make it for the tailgate. Chris, I'll let you know as soon as I know (for your food planning purposes) While we are glad for a night game, it is a work day for Sam and he's not sure how early he'll be able to slip out.
