Pitt @ Duke, 12/6, 12:00 KO, ACCN: Menu & Attendance Thread
So we shockingly once again get the early slot. Silver lining about 12 vs 12:30 is that the game will be on the ACC Network, which is way more accessible for our viewing purposes than Bally. (Although I've got that figured out.)
So it's a Brunchgate, right?
The hell it is! The game could be at 10am, but I'll be damned if I'm doing breakfast again. I loathe repeat menus, so I'm not going to do one for Pitt. Thanks to DevilDeac, who texted a suggestion before we knew the game time, I'll be serving up a sammich bar. DD sent a prompt about a "Pittsburgh Sandwich", which he's apparently tried and attests to. (I'll let y'all Gewgle it.) While I'm not going to dedicate a whole tailgate to one sandwich, I do like the premise! (I think I personally will be having a BLT.)
Part of his found concoction includes fries between the bread slices. Ummmm...personally, no, but I also like the idea of fries being available. Previously we've toted out the oil fryer, which since I may be showing up to this game solo for, is impossible to do for this one. But I've got an answer for that! I'll be bringing in a 2nd generator to run my air fryer, so either fries on the side, or in your sandwich ( ), will be available.
Also, as per tailgate tradition, as much on the table as possible will be homemade, so that will include bread. I'll bake a variety, leaving rye as the standalone store-bought option.
With that long winded intro, let's get to it!
Appetizers = ABTs
Main Dish = Sammich Bar, including a variety of meats, veggies, condiments, home baked breads, 1/4lb hot dogs
Sides = French Fries, Slaw, Potato Salad
Beverage = Hot Apple Cider (with brandy option)
TBCC (3)
OzNina: Pasta Salad
Buddy & Buddette
ACCnoLongerSoloFan & Nrx4vous: sugar & suds
Bob Green (+3)
Fuse (+1)
AugustWest
DPS
HarrySlate and his dad
Total Count: (19)

OzNina, 2. I'll let her know the menu and we'll bring something, TBD.
PS, Costco's are better than the Sam's dogs, which are OK but not as good as Costco's.

Even though there won't be much actually made on the grill food wise aside from the ABTs, Hot Dogs and Bacon (for the sandwiches), it will be running hot so that anyone who wants their sammich grilled can easily have me do so. (A grilled reuben sounds pretty damn tasty.)
Meat selection will include ham, turkey, corned beef, roast beef, bacon.
Cheeses will include swiss, cheddar, provolone, pepper jack.
Accessories to include lettuce, tomato, onion, sauerkraut.

Joy and I will attend and will ponder our contribution, in addition to a couple Jacksons. I've never had a Primanti Brothers sammich but there's quite a number of meats that can be put on it from deli selections to burgers. And yes, I *will* have fries on my sammich!!

"Founded in 1933, the chain is known for its signature sandwiches of grilled meat, melted cheese, an oil & vinegar-based coleslaw, tomato slices, and French fries between two thick slices of Italian bread."
PS-yes, of course I will bring beer to share/trade

I'm going to ride down with ACCFanfrom1970. Assuming you guys are OK with that? I'll bring $$ and beer and whatever I can coerce my daughters into baking before then...

Due to the expected Fall weather, hot apple cider (with optional brandy) will once again be making an appearance.

August West, party of one. I will bring dollars for the jar, plenty of water for the masses, and beers to taste, trade, and share. Looks like I'll have to bring my "A" game in the beer department after looking at the attendance list. See everyone Saturday. AW.
