As noted, there was talk of The Mandalorian in the LTE 2.0, which had some spoilerish info. Creating this thread and moving those posts from the LTE over here so it can continue in it's hodgepodgery without ruining the storyline for folks who are not up to date yet.
I've moved everything over referencing the Mandalorian, including spoiler free comments. It was a little easier.

Mandalorian represents the best of what Disney dollar backed Star Wars can be. Season one was excellent.

Glad to hear that, and thank you for no spoilers. I'm in the middle of re-watching Season 1, and will start season two when I'm done. I'm watching 1 episode every morning, before the rest of the family wakes up. Four to go.

While I enjoyed episode 2, sure feels like Disney didn’t know what to do with Mandalorian season 2.

That episode was so unnecessary. It was enjoyable, but being that they have only 8 chapters to tell the season's story, that one didn't do much of advancing anything other than get them off Tatooine.

Frog Lady was voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who is the guy that voiced all of the clones in Clone Wars and Rebels. I thought that was pretty cool.

Nina and I are fully caught up. Surprisingly, she has enjoyed it! And when we saw a Baby Yoda cocktail on TV last night, she burst out ! =)) :9f:

Julie's never been the biggest sci-fi fan, but she has always enjoyed watching Star Wars. Like you, I watched all of season one solo, but then she said she wanted to also, so I happily rewatched. Now it is our Friday night viewing as we eat dinner. She isn't familiar with all of the background characters (especially the ones coming up such as Ahsoka Tano and the other Mandalorians that we've seen in Clone Wars/Rebels), so I get to fill her in on those.

I have not watched Clone Wars, so I don't know them either. And I barely remember any characters from SW I, II, III, VII, VIII or IX. They didn't leave much of an impression on me. Well, except for hating Jar Jar, of course ;) :9f:

Any predictions on when Ahsoka shows up? Episode 4, or Episode 5? (Or later?)

I'm leaning towards she shows up as the last image we see in 4. (Kind of like Boba in 1.)

I have no idea who she is, as I never watched the Clone Wars.

Watching the first season, I thought the Mandalorion was a prequel to Star Wars, and that Baby Yoda was, in fact, Baby Yoda. But if this is a sequel, then Baby Yoda is actually a reincarnation of Yoda?

No, at least probably not. Baby Yoda (The Child) is an infant of Yoda's species.
Ahsoka Tano was Anakin Skywalker's padawan. She was introduced in the Clone Wars animated movie, then grew up during that show and Star Wars Rebels. She left the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars, but came back to help Bo-Katan (the Mandalorian who was in the last episode) defeat Darth Maul during the siege of Mandalore. (Maul took over the planet.)
Ahsoka showed up again in Rebels, and faced off with Darth Vader, at which point she realized that he was indeed her old master. He would have killed her, but she was rescued by another Jedi at the last minute and sucked into the future.
Makes total sense, right?

Season 2 is enjoyable, and yet the pacing and storytelling meanders a bit too much.

My hope is it comes together over the remaining episodes.

I was hoping that we'd at least be teased visually by the end of 4 of Ahsoka's appearance. Dave Filoni is directing 5, and Ahsoka is his "baby" so to speak, so it's hard to imagine her not being a major player in it. However, they haven't even gotten to Corvus yet. It's pretty doubtful she'll be the one waving the landing flags on the landing platform.

I like the 4th episode a lot, though. Horatio Sanz's character was a welcome return, he's a trip. (Man he looks way different in photos now than he did during his SNL days!) Also nice to see Baby Yoda get a little more useful screen time.

Other than the initial special effect, which was fun, I didn’t think his character really added anything to the episode.

Also, the rebel pilot from the ice planet reappeared. What role will he play?

The intrigue around whatever soldiers Moff Gideon is engineering is pretty interesting.

I agree, petty cookie stealing baby Yoda and rollercoaster “copilot” flying scenes were fun.

Based on the preseason spoilers, the next few episodes will likely be very different.

It's confirmed (duh) that Ahsoka Tano is getting her own show.

There is no way that show does not finally let us know what happened with Ezra Bridger. We now know that Thrawn survived being hauled into hyperspace in a windowless ship by space whales, so we have to assume that Ezra, a Jedi, did too.
