Duke vs Charlotte, 10/31 7 pm, RSN

Post by Bob Green » October 19th, 2020, 4:31 pm

A night game in Wallace Wade on Halloween. What could go wrong? Seems like something happened the last time we played Halloween night but I can’t remember...

Chase Brice is gonna suck against Charlotte, too. We'll win, but he'll suck. :| :ymsigh: :ymtongue:

I was gonna post OY that we have a bye week, and that we are only slight underdogs to it. But trying to keep my negativity OY in check.

Love me some Cut. Need me some hope.

I just realized that I will probably not be able to watch Chase Brice suck against Charlotte since Hulu has killed off Fox Sports today.
I can listen, just can't watch his suckitude. (That would be a good game to let someone else step up and prove they don't suck.)

Chase Brice fucking sucks. He's the Nathan Peterman of the ACC.

I’m not sure I can bring myself to watch more Duke football this year.

A win against Charlotte should be a given.

A loss against Charlotte, I won’t have the words.

I’m grateful to Cut for everything he has done for the program, and mad for fooling myself that maintaining a level of competitiveness would be easy.

Wake beat VT last night. That is so aggravating to see teams that we should be comparable with doing so much better than us.

It all went downhill when OL Coach John Latina “retired.” Funny thing is Latina is currently Assistant Head Coach (Offense/Offensive Line) at Notre Dame. So much for retirement...

Not sure why Latina left Duke but Coach Cutcliffe should’ve given Latina a pay raise or more control or whatever it was Latina wanted. Hindsight 20/20 caveat of course.

Wake has a strong running game but QB Sam Hartman is a bit erratic. In yesterday’s loss, VT QB Hendon Hooker did a great Chase Brice imitation throwing three interceptions.

All to the same walk-on from Centreville, VA, a location that VT used to have locked down. Apparently they didn't even offer this kid a preferred walk-on. I suggested to my Wake buddies here that they better offer him a ride immediately, or VT would, since he is the best receiver Hooker would have. :9f:

Here's a bit of ugliness.
The Duke Blue Devils have lost five of their last seven home games. Chase Brice is completing 54.9 percent of his passes for 1,461 yards, six touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Brice has thrown nine interceptions in his last four games.
That's absolutely disgusting. Does Brice's family have naked pics of Cutcliffe or something?
In contrast, Charlotte's QB completes only slightly more of his passes, but at least he doesn't make completions to the other team. (Only two INTs)

The line is currently Duke at -10.5. If I were a bettor, I'd be tempted to go for that pie.

I just realized I'll be handing candy during the game. I wonder who will be scarier, some of the costumes I see or Chase Brice?

Brave (better?) choice to hand out candy.

This will be the first year our house has ever been dark on Halloween. 2020 X(

Our neighborhood normally gets thousands of people showing up (literally), so while I have no idea what to expect this year, we are participating. We'll be masked up, on the one night that is really easy to do.

If you can borrow Brice to throw candy in the general direction of the children, this should work out for everybody.

While it has been many years since I have seen it, and it may no longer be a thing, the midshipmen would march from the Academy to the football stadium and throw candy to kids watching the parade on the sidewalk.

Was great fun.

Prediction: Duke 34, Charlotte 21

The MOE in this prediction is about three touchdowns.
