The UVA game flipped from a home game to an away game and we no longer play Miami.

Good. I’m still bitter about the game at Miami that we should’ve won.

No word yet, of course, on whether fans will be in attendance (if games are actually played). Wake Forest announced yesterday that only individual game tickets would be sold this season, and season ticket holders will get first chance to pick their games to attend (if allowed). Seems reasonable as a compromise. But I'm doubtful any of us will be going to games this season.

Also lost the trip to Pitt. The last trip up there in 2018 that whacko shot up the Tree of Life Synagogue.

This is a scary thought.
Myocarditis, inflammation of the heart muscle, has been found in at least five Big Ten Conference athletes and among several other athletes in other conferences, according to two sources with knowledge of athletes' medical care.
The condition is usually caused by a viral infection, including those that cause the common cold, H1N1 influenza or mononucleosis. Left undiagnosed and untreated, it can cause heart damage and sudden cardiac arrest, which can be fatal. It is a rare condition, but the COVID-19 virus has been linked with myocarditis with a higher frequency than other viruses, based on limited studies and anecdotal evidence since the start of the pandemic.
Dying from the virus is bad enough; dying on the field because of virus induced heart complications is terrifying.

The article doesn't really make it clear, are these athletes who have been diagnosed with myocarditis as a result of a COVID infection, or have they just been diagnosed with myocarditis (as in, there might well be more athletes than we realized with myocarditis during normal times and we're only just now realizing it because we're doing more aggressive medical screening)?

Fall Camp update:

First scrimmage today. Lots of competition so staff should know more about position battles after the scrimmage. I remain skeptical games will be played.

The attendance email dropped this morning....
Dear Blue Devils fan,
Due to the impact of COVID-19, Duke University will begin its fall sport program seasons without spectators at home events. Click here for the full release.
As a football season ticket holder, we have three options for your ticket charges:
Roll over your 2020 season ticket and parking order toward your 2021 season order.
Convert your ticket and parking charges into a tax-deductible donation to the Iron Dukes Annual Fund. This would be an additional one-time donation and would be deductible. In addition, the Iron Dukes office will award extra bonus credit for the full amount of your converted donation, in essence doubling the Iron Dukes credit for this donation. The Iron Dukes Annual Fund helps Duke to cover the scholarship costs for our student-athletes.
Receive a refund of your ticket and parking charges. Refunds would be issued to the credit card used for the original purchase. If you paid with check, your account representative will reach out with further information.
Our default will be to roll over your ticket and parking charges to the 2021 season. If this option is your preference, you do not need to take any action. If you would like one of the other two options, please contact the Duke Athletics Ticket Office at 919-681-BLUE by September 15. After September 15, we will move forward with rolling over your 2020 season order to the 2021 season.
Thank you and Go Duke!
