Duke is currently a 12 point underdog per Vegas. The over/under has not yet been posted.

Did we come out of GT relatively unscathed? I don't remember much in the way of injuries during that game.

McDuffie had to be helped off the field, unable to put any weight on his left leg, IIRC. Cut may have mentioned MRI in his presser or on Sunday, saying things did not look/sound favorable. I fear he is out for the WFU game. One of the DL was down for a minute or two but he jogged off the field and returned to play in the next series, I think #:-s .

Just saw this on wral.com. Out for remainder of the season. (Which at least for him, is at the most only 2 more games.) A tough loss for the Wake game.
A semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, McDuffie started all 11 games prior to the injury and compiled 58 tackles, three interceptions and nine pass breakups while helping the Blue Devils lead the ACC in pass defense and rank fourth in scoring defense.

Marquis Waters (#10) will start in place of McDuffie at Strike Safety. Waters was impressive against GT so I have no short term concerns about losing McDuffie. My concern for McDuffie is his long term recovery timeline. I assume he is out for spring practice but I hope he is good to go in August. McDuffie will be a senior next season and he is a guy who started two games as a true freshman at Cornerback before moving to Strike Safety this season. He is versatile and talented, and will be a major cog in the DB rotation next season assuming he fully recovers.

McDuffie got blown up by experienced wide receivers as a youngster, but he is the experienced player now and provides flexibility as he can easily switch from Strike Safety to third Cornerback when the situation dictates. The defense can "substitute" and realign without changing a player on the field.

The over/under is set at 58 points, which equates to a score of Wake 35, Duke 23. My optimism has been restored with the impressive offensive showing against GT so I'm predicting:

Duke 34
Wake 28

We are going to have to play as good or better than we did against GT but I'm confident the young men will get it done. B-) It is time to become bowl eligible!

Jeremy McDuffie and Ben Humphreys are OUT for today's game so we are down two starters on defense. Duke will wear gray helmets today:

I had to listen on radio (I like the new guy) and watched the game on DVR last night. Both times were fun! That self caught pass that was ruled a Jones INT had both announcer crews scratching their heads. So did the subsequent INT that could have (should have) been called a simultaneous catch. (I won't complain about the second one.)

Going bowling!
