Alrighty then...

This coming Saturday, the folks from West Point head south to invade Wallace Wade and, the question is: Which Duke team shows up? I know we all hope it's the team that defeated Notre Dame.

Regardless of which team shows, we should all turn-out to give the team as much support as possible and, who knows, we might even have a decent spread of food upon which to feast!

As of today (Friday) the weather looks mostly uncertain. From WRAL.com

Cloudy with bands of rain likely, especially south and east of the Triangle, as Hurricane Matthew appears at this time to remain a little southeast of the North Carolina coast. It will be breezy and mild with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. What we see here in Central North Carolina will be dictated by the storm track, which has shifted significantly to the southeast but remains subject to further changes.

So, let's take a look at the menu!

O+N (+11ish)- thick rollS of $20s.
AW- AW stuff.
DDeac (+3) PORN casserole and/or pudding (kinda creepy).

Total Count = 24 somewhat confirmed

Bob Green +3. Wife Flora (home from the Philippines), Dad Grover and Grandson Zeke. We will toss $$ in the cookie jar.

Ozzie+Nina, plus several fraternity brothers (11 have game tickets, including spouses) but I'll confirm how many will attend the tailgate. All will bring $. Plus, OzzieDaughter, SIL and the kids ( ) will be coming to the game with their church! I expect them to come to tailgate but have not had confirmation from them yet on this or if it would just be a cruise-by and not be eating. So I could have 13 paying guests, or far fewer. I will endeavor to let you know as early as possible, certainly by Wednesday.

We will bring some side or salad or desert item, and will advise on that too! Plus $ of course.

Daryl and Joy: Party of 2 confirmed with Joy's nearly famous corn pudding/casserole (not a corn/black bean salad). Also, beer to trade and/or share along with non-foreign currency in varying small denominations.

Claire and David John have been invited. We'll see...

Somebody remember to bring Chicken Minis....they are Tim's favorite!!

I'll be there with my dad assuming Hurricane Matthew doesn't throw a monkey wrench in my plans!

As of now, I've got about 12 folks coming to tailgate and eating our food, donating $. Weather permitting... One guy is flying in from Nevada on Thursday, so he's not cancelling. The others are driving from points east, north and west, so we'll see. One couple/family is coming from Virginia Beach, where they moved in August. Their son and family lives in Cary, so they may ride out the storm there?

OzzieDaughter and family are not counted in the 12 as they will arrive later, closer to game time. If the hurricane rain is here, they're not coming at all.

I have left a voicemail for David Brochu, our tent guru, asking when they will make decisions as to weather conditions. Hopefully as late as possible, but I foresee them erring on the side of safety and not setting up tents at all if Matthew continues to track more westerly and Durham is expected to get several inches of rain and moderately heavy winds. I will keep you advised.

Hey all - the weather reports are good enough for me to get on the plane. So, I will be in Durham. If there are torrential downpours - I'm not coming to the game although I may try to talk my dad into driving by the tailgate. I am going to be all self-important and assume that if I just show up, I will be welcome huddle under the small tent with the rest of you, at least for a few minutes.

Hey Kidz...right now WRAL is calling for bands of rain showers and breezy but, mainly south and east of the Triangle.

I bring this up because we sorta need a "Go/No Go" on attendance.

I realize that things may still be soggy and, may get soggier if the storm's track changes but, we need to have rough idea of how many folks might be attendance.

Absent a total washout, Tom and I will be there with cash for the kitty.

Ozzie+Nina+10 to12 with cash. We are bringing coconut cupcakes. Plus cash.

Serious question (really? from me?): Taking TNT's post/forecast above and comparing it to the hourly/48 hour forecast from the Weather Channel (100% chance of rain in Derm on Saturday with an estimated total of 1-2") and the projected path of Matthew nowhere near the NC coast, what the hell are we supposed to believe and plan for on Saturday?

That's a damn good question. No sooner than I posted, the forecasts all seemed to change to a more pessimistic "1-2 inches". WTF?

I completely understand that circumstances are fluid (see what I did there?). Should it become the Great ECU Downpour of '00- I don't know if, this time, I'll get out of the van. But, for those that are determined to attend without regard for the weather, that'd be good to know.
