History of the Spork

So I was reading through the presidential election thread OY, and Tom B. has noted that he can't upvote a comment, but he offered up a photo of a spork. I think it is truly fun that, if nothing else, CTN has firmly contributed itself into the culture of OY by way of the spork. (I remember seeing a few mods making posts about how "they are NOT sporks, they are PITCHFORKS DAMMIT".)
For historical interests, I have located the first use of our treasured smiley. (One guess as to who used it.) First "sporking" was July 24th, 2010.

Wait a minute! How can I get pitchforks, if you didn't quote my post?

Is that close enough?

Click on the box in the lower left corner of any recent post that contains the green smile and red frown as I've included below. A message will appear above it so you can leave the dot in the "I approve" circle or click on the "I disapprove" circle. Add your comment in the blank rectangle under the I approve/I disapprove lines and click add comments. Done.





I'll be waiting.

BTW, there is really no etiquette involved except you can't spork the same person until you've have sporkual relations with about 25 other partners, err, posters. And, if you've sporked too much in the last 24 hours, your sporker is rendered useless/impotent/unusable. Or something like that.

The proper etiquette is: Whenever anyone posts something you like OY, you spork them. Or the corollary: Whenever anyone you like posts something OY, you spork them.
