Damond Johnson, a wide receiver with 4.28 40 speed, is the first verbal commit in the class of 2017. Strong start!

Marvin Hubbard is a RB/WR with 4.42 speed per ESPN:

4* LB Ellis Brooks has verballed to Duke. He is a 6'2" 240 stud out of Richmond from the same high school as Scott Bracey (and Silent G).

It appears to be down to Virginia or Duke but he also lists Wake Forest, Iowa, Vanderbilt and Northwestern.

Will be interesting to watch UVA's recruiting this year with the new coach. My guess is that Ruffin McNeil will be doing at least some of that recruiting, which is a plus for the Hoos.

Mike London remains a factor as he is now an assistant coach at Maryland. London is an accomplished recruiter.

According to the Twitterverse, Charlotte Latin cornerback Melvin Rouse has committed to Duke. He is not rated and it appears Duke is his only offer.

According to some emails I've received, some folks are saying Rouse "committed" prior to Coach Cutcliffe actually offering him a scholarship. A bit of confusion over this one...
