We have opened as a 6 1/2 point favorite against Boston College for this Saturday. Boston College will be without their starting QB, RB, and really struggled to move the ball this past weekend against Northern Illinois. Their backup QB, (Doug Flutie's nephew), only attempted 11 passes in the game. We should be able to load the box with our defenders, play one-on-one in the secondary, and really limit BC's offense.

Boston College also has a very physical, aggressive defense that held Florida State to 217 total offensive yards two weeks ago. Our offense will be challenged at the line of scrimmage, and we will need to avoid turnovers if we want to win this game.

I do not expect this game to be pretty, but I cannot see their offense being able to score much at all against our defense. We will be without our top WR Johnell Barnes for the first half due to his ejection last week for targeting.

Duke 20
BC 9

In addition to problems caused by injuries at QB, isn't BC now missing an RB who's out for Saturday's game? ;;)

I'm hoping that our own injury report is short and uncomplicated.

The Eagles received devastating news today as star running back Jon Hilliman has been diagnosed with a broken foot and will be out for the foreseeable future. This is particularly tough given that BC is struggling to move the ball and on Saturday it was Hilliman who tallied 123 yards who moved the ball the most effectively.

I hate to hear any player is hurt. Especially forever or a season.

Our uniform combination for Saturday has been released. The team will be wearing blue helmets, black jerseys, and blue pants. We wore this uniform last November in a disappointing 17-16 loss to Virginia Tech. Hopefully the result will be different this weekend.

This is the one game of 2015 that I will miss due to my work schedule. I will be watching as much of it as I can, and I will be there in spirit.

GO DUKE!

Here is my game preview: http://bluedevilnation.net/2015/10/game ... n-college/

I expect Duke to pass less than normal utilizing two back sets to amp up the running game.

I totally missed with the above statement. Boston College shut our run game completely down. Thirty-three yards on 35 carries is beyond abysmal.
