What I find interesting is OF lists the same five sports as speculation on PackPride lists. Post season bans and scholarship reductions could send Ol' Roy to retirement. I doubt his ego can handle him being found guilty of cheating. My prediction is he holds a "woe is me" press conference where he denies any knowledge of wrong doing followed by announcing his retirement because the NCAA "...don't know a dadgum thing about Roy Williams or North Carolina basketball."Just to go on record, from what I'm hearing from sources I trust, UNC is going to be nailed going forward, but I'm doubting that any banners come down or that wins are vacated.
I hear veteran administrators speculate that UNC will get postseason bans and scholarship reductions in a number of sports -- specifically, basketball, football, baseball, women's basketball and women's soccer (all sports that have benefited from the AFAM scandal). How long those bans might be, I don't know, but I was told that UNC would be treated harshly as a two-time offender. The punishment they got in March of 2012 specifically started that any other NCAA violations in the next five years would result in repeat offender status.
UNC has 90 days to respond so that means by mid-August. Then the NCAA reviews the response and holds an infractions hearing. From what I've heard, we should know what punishment is handed down around February or March 2016.DevilWearsPrada2.0 wrote:What is the Time Line the NCAA will do more and continued investigations of unc? I agree. Didn't Syracuse have to give up an enormous number of wins due to ineligible players?ArkieDukie wrote:QFEDukePA wrote:I feel every win with players on the teams who were eligible because of fake classes should be vacated. Period.
If they skate, can we get someone close to Boeheim to wear a bodycam when he is told? I want to see a jacket throwing meltdown.Very Duke Blue wrote:Yes, Syracuse did, but we all know, unc is privileged.

He probably cheated, too.Lavabe wrote:How soon before Hubert Davis becomes head coach?
Apparently he was cheated on....CameronBornAndBred wrote:He probably cheated, too.Lavabe wrote:How soon before Hubert Davis becomes head coach?
I'll respectfully disagree with this because if they skate, the smug, arrogant c*rolina way attitude will be reinforced, the rampant cheating will return and it will set a very dangerous precedent nationally for this type of behavior. I know what I'd like to see (along with most of Wolfpack nation and many Duke fans) and that includes multi-year post-season bans for the (probably) 5 sports that cheated (the most) and reduced scholarships in addition to vacated wins and championships. That would punish past behavior and hurt recruiting moving forward. But, I'll be satisfied with something more severe than what the 'Cuse got for their years of cheating and to have some measure of consistency with other academic/athletic scandals at f$u and Minnesota in the last decade or so.Ima Facultiwyfe wrote:There's a little part of me that wouldn't mind seeing them skate. They'd be denied the opportunity of paying their debt to society and starting over with a clean slate. The stench would hang over the dump on the hump forever since the whole country knows them for what they've become. So I won't really be disappointed either way.
