Psyched for the upcoming fooball season
I just bought my parking pass and am so pleased to be back in the B lots. I'll be driving up from the coast with my friend, Sarah, who I met through the Alumni pep band at the NY area games. Sarah is retiring from Philly to Beaufort this month. We're sharing a family pack of tickets with two friends who live in Raleigh. It will be so fun to have someone to travel with. GO DUKE!!!

I am psyched because I will attend a tailgate AND there is a high probability I will be joined by the very lovely WindsorsDaughter...and of course Tyler - The Practically Perfect Poodle.

I would like to make a game this year - let me know what weekend you are considering. Maybe we can get a group from out of town at the same game.windsor wrote:DukePA wrote:I just bought my parking pass and am so pleased to be back in the B lots. I just bought my parking pass today too, and I'm royally pissed. I'm in the B-7 lot instead if the Card Gym lot, where I've been for 8-10 years.

Re: Psyched for the upcoming fooball season
I am totally psyched for another season of Duke football and looking forward to seeing Thomas Sirk perform at quarterback. If Sirk is good, not great just good, we will be looking at another solid season. Players are going to have to step up at several positions, such as defensive end, punt returner and wide receiver, but the pieces are all available. I'm thinking somewhere between 8 and 10 wins.

Re: Psyched for the upcoming fooball season
I am way stoked! TNT and I are entered in a BBQ comp in Durham (held at the county stadium) on the 5th/6th, so we'll be getting Blue Smoke greasy again. A couple weeks later, I'll be helping him cater a pig pickin', so by the time we hit tailgate season (ok...technically football season) we should remember what we're doing.
Awesome to hear you will be joining us for games this year Donna!

Was just about to chime in with the same request. Let me know when you pick a game so I can try to make plans.DukePA wrote:Another big Yay! Off the top of my head my first option would probably be Georgia Tech - 10/31 is a no go. Pitt is possible
Sep. 12 North Carolina Central Eagles
Sep. 19 Northwestern Wildcats
Sep. 26 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Oct. 3 Boston College Eagles (HC)
Oct. 31 Miami (FL) Hurricanes
Nov. 14 Pittsburgh Panthers

Re: Psyched for the upcoming fooball season
Anyone who has access to a drop-off pass or can park in Card, would someone chat with ChipSlate closer to the season? In case you didn't know, the law firm of Slate and Slate is slated (so to speak) to become the law firm of Slate, Slate, and Slate in October, and it would be good if TigerDevil could maybe cut her walks a little shorter on the weeks she attends tailgate, um, the games.

I posted the scoreboard picture in the wrong thread. The only thing missing in the picture below is Daryl and Zeke yelling at the refs:

That reminds of the time Duke beat Clemson in 2004. Stevo, Max and I were at the game. It took the 15, or so, students at the game 45 minutes to get the goal posts down. Once they did, they were carrying it back to the quad and kept running into trees

Re: Psyched for the upcoming fooball season
Did any of y'all receive a fan survey from Duke football? One showed up in my email yesterday or the day before with one of the questions being preferred kickoff time. I answered 3:30 pm. I am sure we all agree 12:30 pm is too early, but while lots of folks like 6:00 pm or even 7:00 pm start times, I prefer late afternoon.
There was also a question, "How can your football game day experience be improved" or something along those lines, that allowed you to type in a detailed response. I told them to turn down the volume on the damn video scoreboard during timeouts and between plays, etc...
