Options for cutting cable

I'm starting to think very seriously about cutting my cable subscription. There are lots of TV stations available out of Houston (towers are 45 miles away), and I have Hulu plus, Amazon and Netflix. The TiVo Roamio looks like a good DVR option. I think I can still watch ESPN on my computer if I keep Comcast broadband internet.

So, thoughts? Recommendations? I seem to remember others talking about doing this, so any advice and recommendations would be greatly appreciated - especially for antennas.

Sounds good to me. I advise getting advice from Native and Rolix. Their generation is rocking technology in the most cost-effective way possible.

Also thinking about Roku 3. Sling app will get me a bunch of cable channels, including ESPN, for $20/month. Would then need a DVR option, unless I can cover it with video on demand.

I cut the cable for about 6 months in 2014. Not having a DVR was the biggest change. TV was viewed by appointment because I didn't want to pay the subscription fees for some of the non-provider devices.
