Booted out with no chance of reinstatement. No drugs or physical altercations according to sources. I'm at a loss.

I will miss Sheed! We needed all the help this season with a up and down season.

UVA is up next and IMO the best team in the ACC.

I had an interesting and unexpected conversation with a couple of basketball coaches today. I walked in the door of the rental car agency (business relating to my recent accident) and immediately got a comment from one of them about the Duke shirt I was wearing. They were in line ahead of me and said at some point that they were both coaches. We started talking about the championship game, and I said something about Rasheed Sulaimon (can't even remember what it was now). I said the Duke insiders were being very quiet about what happened, and they responded with, "All the basketball insiders know exactly what happened." All they would say was that coeds were involved. The big bombshell was that the same thing happened in high school. I expressed surprise that Coach K had even recruited him under those circumstances, and the response was that he was given a second chance and he blew it.

Other interesting bit of fun from the conversation: one of the two said that Okafor needs another year of college to work on his defense. This comment came about when I said that Amile's defense on Kaminsky was one of the keys of the game and that his play was a bit unheralded. I said he did a better job than Okafor, and they agreed with me. It was great fun to talk about the game with experts who didn't have a horse in the race, although I suspect they may have been pulling for Wisconsin.

Thank you for sharing this, AD. I'm glad Coach K gave Rasheed second chance, but how said that he couldn't take advantage of it. I agree about Okafor staying another year to work on his offense . . . we can dream, can't we?

My thoughts exactly. Jah could use another year. But the NBA level doesn't use Defense like the Duke team does. NBA is such fast tempo and mainly catch and release and score. Run down the court to rebound . That is why I don't care for NBA basketball. I prefer College Hoops, and always have! I would like to see a new rule......... either go directly to the NBA or D-league from High school. Or go to college, and a mandatory 2 years in college.

The Div 1 elite teams have become the Pre-Marketing for future NBA picks. I have been so impressed with our Freshman this season.

Coach K made a great decision to dismiss Sheed.
